Now, that's a first! Congrats on the purchase. Apart from being drop-dead gorgeous, this car is as practical as it gets for Indian cities. I've always loved the 500 for its originality!

Yet to see one on the road though.

Cheers!

Hi,

In another thread related to car seat covers, you have mentioned about air bags on the seat.

Could you elaborate on how this would work?

Yes the front seats have airbags in them. Side airbags are housed in the outer sides of the two front seats, protecting the occupants during side impacts.

The total number of airbags are 7.

1 Steering wheel Airbag

2 Dashboard Airbag

3&4 Front seats Airbags (You can see a small black tag with the words "Airbag"!!)

5 Knee Airbag

6&7 Window Airbags

(Pic below, not my car !! LOL)

A yellow Fiat 500 was driving along with me on the Vashi bride today morning at about 8.30. The yellow doesn't suit the 500 as much as some other colours (Red is the best) but it was great seeing the car in metal for the first time. Like the Beetle, the 500 brings a smile on your face the moment you see it. By the time you start driving these cars, you are grinning .

Fanatastic cover you got there omar. just lovely.

i think the idea of the cover is to cover not the FIAT 500 but for others who dont have the car and wished theirs loooked like the 500

btw , personally form what i have seen and known about the car i am surprised with the 15 lacs tag and believe that you have to be the "shaukeen " of all shaukeens to go for this lovely little thing !

I really love this car and the best part it brings a smile to everyones face.

I sent an email to the CEO of Fiat India and got a reply the very next day from his blackberry!! I deleted it by mistake :-(

I guess 500 commands as much road presence as Ferrari here in India. I am myself a huge fan of this car and having driven it in UK too, I am smitten by this little red devil. Alas, My dad just wouldn't budge...envy you!!!
