Thanks Guys,

It is very encouraging !!

I will definitely post pics once I get the car.

Cheers

Omar

I will also paint the brake calipers red. I got the heat resisting paint !! They come red only in the 1.4 petrol model.

Congrats on the car choice - have you got it as yet? Would love pics.
I somehow found the red a little too bright - and the dash of red in the interiors wasn't my style!
But thats just about the only sore point! The car seems to be a joy to drive in etc etc

Hi Benji

I am happy you like the car, I'll get the car only in November end, I went for the red because I felt is was a bit sportier with the sports interior.

Cheers

Congrats Omar, that's going to be one rare car on Indian roads, rarer than Mercs and Beemers.

My 1997 Chevy Malibu had DRLs, like most American cars since late 90s. This is not something new. It is usually at 90% during daylight and it brightens to full power when the daylight fades. I never had to turn on my lights in the 2.5 years of my ownership of that car.

Congrats. I see a lot of these here in Windsor since I guess there is an active 500 owners club near Eton.

Its really sad that the Government is making you pay so much of taxes for fulfilling your desire. If not for the duty, the car would be about 8 lakhs. End of the day, its 8 lakhs worth that you are buying, but the policies are so skewed that you are being taken for a ride.

They don't even let us import second hand stuff man, I mean for the price of a new Swift, I can get a decent C Class, and the Government has no right to snatch away my right just to make some Tata or Bajaj richer

Congratulations Omar, you're among those very very few who place passion above everything else.. The 500 is one car I would give my right arm to own, whatever the price !!
The white colour available here rocks, in fact I personally feel the 500 looks best in white.
Take good care of her you lucky dude, and do keep posting pictures / reviews as you go along.
And lastly, if you ever are in Mumbai, do drop in to one of our Fiat Club meets - you'll be guest of honour.

Congrats on your new ride. Please please do post a review once you get the delivery. Cant wait to hear a first hand review. The 500 is way out of my reach for now, but she's one heck of a car. Take good care of her, and if you do get tired of her, I'll be most willing to take her off your hands.....
