I have never heard of anything like octroi here in Chandigarh.. Maybe its due to the fact that it's a union territory..
Not sure about octroi and all in the neighbouring states though..

Please dont read anything into this. It is just the ramblings of an (frustrated highest taxes for anything in the country yet lowest priority for anything) tax paying citizen.

WE HAVE TO PAY OCTROI FROM OUR NOSE FOR ALL PURCHASES(any capital goods). IT IS ABOUT 5% OF THE VEHICLE EX-SHOWROOM PRICE.

THIS IS THE REALITY IN MAJOR CITIES IN MAHARASHTRA.

No other state except Gujarat i guess has this ridiculous tax.

Hmm, don't you guys pay road tax?

Here, the price of the vehicle is ex-showroom + insurance + registration + road tax.

There's no Octroi in Union Territories. Its a tax levied by state governments for bringing goods into their state from other states. It is what is called "Chungi".

There is very less road tax in Chandigarh I got my civic with only 3.5K as road tax and that too included agent’s fees.
States like Maharashtra and Karnataka have high road tax it is around 10% of vehicle cost. (Please correct me here if I am wrong).

Hey guys...HONDA DROPPING PRICES!!!

As you all know, Govt on Sunda reduced taxes...as a result Maruti, Hyundai and Hindustan motors have dropped their prices....SX4 is now cheaper by 25k.

I just called the Deccan Honda dealer in Pune. They say that by today evening they will have the new price list. I expect the price for S MT to come down by 25-30k....thats good new.

all guys, does Honda give corporate discount...does anyone have a list of companies for which they give discounts??

“We many not go for a price increase in some models and will be offering competitive prices after the excise cut. We will moderate the excise cuts against the already announced price increase of our vehicles. All other models — City, Civic, Accord — except for Honda CRV, which is a fully imported vehicle, will be considered for change in prices,” said Jnaneshwar Sen, vice president for sales and marketing at Honda Siel.

NHc2008 - Black

I heard from NHC dealer that the black colour NHC will be available from jan 2009. None of the site that i referred had a glimpse of how a black NHC might look. I took the help of my friend and did some graphic work to see how a black honda city might look.

Here are the work we did..We didnt give attention to taillamps and headlamps.

I think it looks macho and awesome.

I booked one Black SAT. They said, it will be delivered in January second week or third week.
The photos are fantastic. I saw one video of black ANHC (I think, Australian Launch) in Youtube... It look stunning...

NHC 2008 vs ZX VTec Price comparison

ZX VTec+ cost a little more (apprx 20K) than NHC 2008. But it has lot of goodies (alloys, beautiful interiors, fog lamp, doorstep garnish, rear spoiler etc and ABS). They both have vTec engine, of course Honda engineers improved the current vtec engine for efficiency and pickup (NHC 2008 has new generation of VTec engine). Why NHC2008 is so costly? Are we paying more cost for the new looks?
