I think our mileage is roughly equal .. For yesterday's trip most likely the Ghat road and the Bangalore city traffic accounts for whatever small difference we have ..

Anyways happy and safe driving ...

I tend to agree, but, I was pleasently surprised to see these figures as I was expecting not more than 13 kmpl till first servicing.

Hey.. I maintain 33psi for my i10 sportz as mentioned in the manual... but for long drives I am planning to increase to 34psi with 4 people to drive around..

p.s. I earlier had maintained 32psi for city driving as was insisted by pressure guage guys in the bunk , but found that the ride quality wasn't that smooth.. so changed to 33psi..

Mileage dropped after refilling at Shell

Hi all,

Now I have completed more that 4000 kms with lovable i10. Still it feels like a new car and now 2.5 months over with the beauty.

Last time, I refilled at Shell normal petrol. And yesterday did a tankful again at Shell. Used the autocut method. To my surprise, I just got 9.69 kmpl mileage . Though I was not expecting any increase in the mileage, but its way low then the normal 13-14 kmpl which I used to get in City driving. And this time, its full of Bangalore city use. And few short distance trips as well. Is these short trips are the culprits for bringing down the mileage? or the Shell? Please advise.

Earlier I used to refill at HP at Koramangala which is just before the Madiwala checkpost bus stop.

Otherwise the performance of the car is good and I am satisfied 100%.

@Rajeevan: Even I am maintaining 33 psi regardless of long drives/short drives.

Thanks & Regards
Subbu

Which Shell Petrol pump you visited ? Till now I am filling regularly at Shell Petrol Pump in Vartur Road Whitefield. Getting 12-13 Kmpl.

I have the same car i10 Kappa sportz .. Same color too .. ..

Well, 9.69 is way too low a mileage that you are getting on your i10. I have a sportz variant as well and I get anywhere between 12-14 in Bengaluru's city driving.

Maybe you should look at your driving style and see if any adjustments are required. Too many gear changes, clutch/brake riding etc. will always yield lesser mileage. Also i feel 33psi is a bit on the higher side and the ride will be bumpier.

I am sorry for replying late. I haven't checked airpressure since I have taken the delivery on 6th Jan. I serviced it once (1st Servicing on 7th Feb) and hope that during servicing they checked the pressure. Visually inspected tyres look adequately inflated and ride quality is fine. Having said that, I would get my tyre pressure checked in this week.

My i10 has run for 1667 Kms and last tankful gave me about 16.37kmpl average. The exact figure is in my Signature.

takecare and drive safely
