After much doubt (about the financing) and waiting, I will finally be getting delivery of my Getz CRDi (electric red!) on Friday! So, this will probably be one of the last ones to be delivered!

And now, we are going to have 2 Getz CRDIs in the same office. My colleague was in the market for a car and was considering mainly sedans. I was ragging him about doing so much research since he is a very impulsive buyer.

In the next 30 mins, I hear him on the phone - "If you have even one last car, I will buy it today itself!" And on inquiry - yes, another spur of the moment decision to buy the Getz CRDI had been made!! ROFL!

With no issues about his financing, he is getting his car on Thursday itself.

Yup! they are phasing it out. The production has already been stopped. The i20 crdi will be it successor but with a 1.4 90bhp engine.

14 kmpl in city Sorry But is it for 2 litres (just kidding) cause never heard that GETZ CRDI giving 18kmpl on highways, i have a friend who drove along with me to Kancheevaram (we had to buy sarees for his wedding) and he got about 16kmpl with surely more sedate driving than yours.

I got 20 kmpl on Highways in my Getz CRDi , twice. I maintained 80kmph speed during the journey.

My pushrod ikon 1.3 and the esteem which give 9kmpl in the city have given me 19 and 18 respectively on the highway.
20kmpl is very easy from the getz crdi.

Ha ha I don't always drive like that. Not with my dad around. All highway drives till now with dad. Speeds of 120 constantly. I got 18. And frankly this car asks to be driven wildly for better mileage.

@nitrous - you are right about that. All the Getz crdis give more than 16. Sedate driving is what gibes lesser mileage .

@undead - what about the red monster have you bought it yet.

I honestly dont find the difference sometimes. I get the same mileage range whether I'm ripping her or going slow. To hell with the mileage. Bring on our turbo charged monsters!

Ya. Really missed it. If i had been there for another 2.5 hours , we could have met , i crossed the tidel park around 8 AM.

Yup . Took the red monster on 3rd July. Right now its in service centre . Oil change was due . And some additional work .I will post the details this weekend once i get my car on Friday.

No pal ..in 5h gear only. It was a normal State Highway road and the traffic in this area is very low and so, gear changing and overtaking is very less . I drove around 240kms to get this Fuel efficiency. I posted this before in my post long time back . Was running in Stock tires only.
