Point Made... Bought Grande Punto MJD

10th Jun : I finish my luncheon at work, light up a death stick and amble cheerfully towards Concorde.
Having seen the vehicle in flesh already(inside and out), I was ready with my 50k bill for the reservation to royalty.
Reserved a beauty of medium grey complexion. No color pallates, no similar color available either.Well, I said to myself, since owning car is so much like having a baby, I shouldnt be too judgemental about her color. I preferred to rely on the description of my very good friend at the dealership and my previous experiments with colors.

18th Jun : I am down with viral fever. Things look dull and grim. I get a call from Concorde. They are expecting me at the launch party for Punto!!
Well, I had been bed-ridden for a week now, felt the need to get out.
Out came my most disgusting skull printed tee, a dirty pair of jeans, weatherbeaten jacket and a filthy pair of sandals.
Stupid..extermely stupid.
When I reach the dealership, I was informed that since I was the first person to book, the Fiat folks would be congratulating me!! And the way I looked.
Hell. Took the bouquet.said some stupid stuff.I was still groggy from all those ugly yucky pills.

24th Jun : My good friend told me that my baby has arrived. Went to the stockyard, checked her out.Even with all the dust carpet, she looked like Angelina on Oscar night! Did the PDI ..came back .Wrote the cheque for the balance.Submitted all docs. And the wait starts.

25th Jun : I have already visited the ATM 5 times to check whether the amount has been cleared.I think I should check once more.

26th Jun : Hooray!! Cheque cleared.Call up dealer.fix delivery date for tomorrow.Get temp regn#.

27th Jun : All ready for delivery.
Haircut : check
Shave : check
Sweets: check
Documents : check

at 11 am, dealership calls.
"Sir, there's a problem!! Your cheque has bounced!!.Seems like the signature didn't match!!!"
Ran down to the atm to confirm.Yes the money is back.
Sped to dealership. They are ready to deliver the car if I can get a draft. Call up HSBCcallcenter. The bank will be open till 1.
Rode like crazy to bank.
Impatient waiting in the hall with my best buddy comforting me against any sudden outbursts.
The lady behind the counter checked my signature and confirmed that it was fine. But she cant clear the cheque.Next best option was to get a draft. Unfortunately, I had to cough up 700/- for the tax stuff.
Back to dealer with the draft at 1.50 pm.
The Temp Regn is yet to arrive.
Told them that I would take the delivery at 4 since all the PDI was already done.

4pm. Pooja about to start. It starts drizzling. The priest says that it brings good luck!!

Delivery phase complete.Yipeeeeeeeeeeee I am the first owner of the GP in Bangalore(or India???)
Waited till 6 to get the temp no. Then to the cheers of the entire dealership, I'm off to conquer the world and to make a point!!

Congrats man. It looks like a nice car, and I hope Fiat's A.S.S. matches up to it.

Nice post, great write up about the buying experience. IMHO the colour suits the car perfectly as it offsets the lines to perfection and gives it a slightly muted look.

Congratulations on the new car and wish you many happy miles on it.

Cheers,

Congrats congrats this color looks so lovely. I also ran to get a draft when i got a call to pick my Linea, couldnt wait for 2 days to get the cheque, thats the excitement of a new car and i dont blame you for running around.
Its such a lovely moment especially for you as you are the 1st one who got delivery of punto and posted pics at team bhp.

This color acc to me looks second best to red. Enjoy the drive. My car also got home mud wrapped as the day i took delivery it heavily rained.
