Hi Amitcd : The problem has returned after it got fixed by itself , when i use the RHS indicator it occurs again.

My car dealership is in mysore which is like 160 Kms from bangalore , where i work and stay . but he has said that he will speak with his counterpart in bangalore and get it rectified .

[ Hope fully for free ]

Yes i am baffled too , so i am keeping a small note pad and writing about all the issues / concerns that i faced , something like a Log book .

Thanks to my friend Nrupu , that was a valuable advice , that way i wont forget all the issues i faced when i go the Service station .

hi amit,

you got a really nice car there.

i was going through your thread and i read that after 4k kms your engine noise has gone down.

i was having a random thought that have your also observed a marginal decrease in FE too?

if yes, probably you should try cleaning the air filter and see what happens. does the noise come back? or it stays smooth.

this happened with my CRDi. the noise was back after cleaning the air filter and the FE too increased a bit.

you know these 15K kms service intervals are never meant to be for the dusty conditions that we live here in india

@pb10gagan - The difference in FE is due to change in driving style post running in. For NVH most Punto owners on the forum including me have reported new found smoothness after 3-4k kms.

Hello Punto owners,

Palio has a fan below the motor that kicks on when the ambient temperature goes up after a certain level. The fan is variously described by people from 'noisy' to 'aircraft technology'. To put it mildly it does what an elephant does: after a bath it gives itself a dust bath!

After a drive, especially on a hot day, if you happen to stop on a dusty patch it invariably attracts the attention of onlookers. In the beginning I used to think that people were really admiring the car. I realize now that it is the dust that wells up from the bottom of the car that they are staring at!

Have the Puntos got this feature? And what about Linea? Can someone throw some light?

HI Guys,

My punto is low on fuel , and did the full tank last..!
Now my question is morning when i checked the range it showed 54 Kms , and after that it beeped " Low Fuel Warning " on the display .

After that it is neither showing average consumption or the range .

Is this normal ? how much fuel might i be left with in the tank . i wanted to know .

Will Full tank her soon tough .

Definitely is the door panel. I had the volume of my system at 15-16 some time back and there was absolutely no rattling sound from the speakers.
I am observing the same kind of "khat" sound when I start the car in the morning. Today, I noticed some rubber burning smell also. Is this the burning of brake pads? Is this something to do with brake oil?

Another problem noticed in my car is: I get the low battery warning if the car is kept idle for 2-3 days. Is this normal? I drove around 2500kms in <three months.

Once the fuel needle reaches reserve, estimate the fuel left to be around 5-7 ltrs.
The MID is somewhat confused itself..

The "range" displayed is based upon the current driving style.
drive in josh for 1 km, the range will be less, drive to save fuel, see the Range show magic figures.

And if the needle drops dead, no matter what leave everything just fill her up ASAP. The needle is never accurate unlike the korean cars.

BTW, its not healthy to starve the fuel pump for fuel. I mean its not good if it takes in fuel with air. Makes it work more than normal to filter air and fuel.

What i do with my 1.4 FIRE is, make a full tank the moment the needle reaches halfway mark.
That way i fill in xtrapremium petrol for around Rs. 1200; and have a mental satisfaction that i got a full tank for odd 1000 bucks!!

Generally, when you smell something burning in the cabin, it is never the brake pads, but the first thing that comes to my mind is the clutch, then if the ac is on something from outside..

Regarding the battery, the electrolyte level must be low or a rare case the battery cell defective..
Go to a registered exide battery dealer, let him check/top up.. if it is defective, go to the SC then. Or else let the SC hande the whole issue. Your call...

I faced similar problem with LHS, and all the three indicators on left side are not working. LHS indicator inside the cabin blinks faster, but outside indicators were not working. I took the car to service station and they said its due to some loose connection in the left stalk and fixed it.
I observed same warning 4-5 times later also. I found a small work around - pressing hazard button (as soon as the warning appears) solves it. I need to get the sorted during first service.
