Linea will ward off the competion from Manza the same way Punto has been able to do with Indica Vista. Also hope that the waiting period for Dzire will reduce, thanks to most of the customers threatening to move away to Manza. Maruti can no more say "wait or get lost". So finally the customer is the king again.

Thanks to Mr. Anonymous. Awaiting for a more detailed report soon, GTO.

That is one hell of a boot. 15" wheels, sweet.

I guess they would be trained to not do that, and to infact creat a differentiation, that makes both seem to be VFM in their own distinct segment.

The Linea does give alloys, blue and Me from microsoft - as against the generic one from tata, better stearing grip, rear screen, rear ac vents, better looking front (make that best looking), seemingly more expensive car, bigger exterior size than the corolla - biggest in price segment.

So it should not be a complete write off for fiat, the ideal scenario for fiat+ tata would be if the tata manza gets sx4 and verna guys to the showroom and they the individual chooses either of the two in greater numbes than earlier.

Well, it may not happen in bigger cities where the buyers rely more on the internet or reviews etc., tier II & tier III cities will see the sway, according to me, my view. They rely more on:
1. Service Network - no. of A.S.S.
2. Tata Brand - Trust in the brand
3. Price difference.
4. VFM 'in their eyes' (it has bluetooth, etc.)

So even though there won't be a significant difference in bigger cities, the small cities may alter the vote IMO!

Its right time for FIAT to plonk Linea with 1.6 MJD or T-JET 120 BHP engine to raise the bar.

What 4.8 lakhs(~$10k) buys in India

Credit for these pictures goes to the Flickr user "notjustshravan", so I would like to thank him for taking such good pictures. Is he also a TeamBHPian ?

And also kudos to Tata for making such a VFM car.

I will post more pics.

Great Pics!

The car from the front (in the 1st pic) looks quite good, although IMHO, the boot's a little too boxy.

The interior trim seems quite nice too!

Interiors look like Indica Vista. Th ICE head unit looks like the same BP unit of Anniversary version Vista.

Hmmm looking at the car I feel like replacing my anniversary edition with a Manza having ABS and Quadrajet. Will TATAs give me good money for my Vista Anniversary edition which is 7 months old and run 18 K kms

@anmol2k4 - Thanx for uploading some excellent pics.
1. I really like the wheels
2. These pics give a better look on the interiors. I shud say they are really good.
4. Seats are amazing.
5. Bottle holders under the seat - clever.
6. Paint job - good
7. Front better than the rear.

I am itching to visit the showroom and touch and feel everything.

I believe the rear is a non-independent (semi-independent according to Tata lingo).

Unless you absolutely need the boot, please don't! You stand to lose a lot of money by selling a car within the 1st year of ownership.

Probably because its easier to sell a Tata product than a Fiat to the average customer. Its also cheaper and seems to have WAY more room.

notjustshravan whoever it is great job on the pics.

Anmol thanks for sharing it here. These pics are the best i have seen so far and the car does seem to have a better fit and finish than Vista which in my opinion was as good or bad as swift in comparison.

It looks quite good both from outside and inside

The quality also seems to have improved.

The seat fabric color seems just so fine and gels with the overall interiors.
