HDR is High Dynamic Ranging and HDRI is HDR Imaging which is achieved by merging photos of the same object clicked at various exposure levels. Unless you use a tripod, it is not possible to achieve different exposure levels on single object without altering the image setup. To overcome this, certain software (like Media Chance Dynamic Photo) provide HDR processing on a single image by altering light amount/condition as well as saturation levels. These help to increase the field of depth thus giving the image a more "close to real" generation.

Going to give my Linea tomorrow for Clutch slave cylinder replacement. Will post results after collecting the car.

Got the clutch slave cylinder changed. Was done free of cost by concorde. Even though chassis number of my car was not in the "list", it was undertaken. After the change, a definite improvement in clutch travel. It has reduced considerably. Slotting of the gears was already precise, so no change on that. Acceleration (not related) is faster.

On taking the delivery, found the driver and co-passenger leather seats were found dirty (blackish). Blasted the SA. He said nobody got inside the car as there was no work involved inside. However, dirt was quite visible and got it cleaned. Next trip to FTASS on 6/7 Mar when it is the free servicing camp.

Overall experience 8/10.

Hi guys

Taking a round trip to Kanyakumari. I have some queries posted here http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/route-...ound-trip.html If you can help, please do respond.

Edit:

Advise from Trivandrum members of TBHP is welcome for service standards of Kulathunkal Motors as I will be in Tvm for the National Servicing period by Fiat.

A Servicing Trip

Got back from Trivandrum two days back. Works department had severed the tele line, so no internet. The trip was made worth its while by the Italian beauty. The day I left, I had NH47 all to myself due to some massive strike called by bus operators. It was a dream of a drive with non-activity leading to boredom. Distance to Tvm is 205 km which was covered in 2 hrs and 30 mins . Speed maintained throughout was 80kmph with ACC 100%. MID returned a trip average of 19.9 kmpl.

During my stay at Trivandrum, I had the opportunity to go to Kulathankal Motors located on the NH47 byepass at Trivandrum for Fiat's nationwide servicing camp. Reached there at 0930 and was put in a queue. Was told to come back by 3PM, but decided to stick around. Spoke to Mr Ashish Pullarwar from Fiat. He is the customer relationship guy with Fiat. According to him, launch os 1.4 TJet is the top priority for Fiat right now, followed by Punto Sports, which could be launched by the Punto anniversary time, Jun 10. There were few other customers who were engaging him in wish list. He was categorical in saying that new speakers are under trial for both Linea and Punto and even the HU might be changed to incorporate an Amp Out. I informed him about a car care program available on Tata website where they provide breakdown for things like paint protection, underbody treatment etc, according to the Tata car model.

After this, I decided to move around the workshop along with my car. A seperate team was assigned to various functions and the car did not spend more than one hour inside the workshop. When they lifted the car, I was able to see the under-body and was pleasantly surprised to see that despite of numerous bump contacts, there was not a single scratch anywhere. The metal guard under the engine bay did not have any damage. The silencer hangs onto threes sets of clips and is cushioned by rubber inserts in the clips. Middle portion of the silencer was hanging loosely and was tightened by inserting extra rubber (hard rubber). Rear suspension lugs were tightened and car was taken to the wash. After the complete process, since I was following the progress, I was able to take the delivery at 1230. Was given a tissue box along the delivery. A few pics during the visit to Kovalam beach in the night:

Blue&Me Update.

I had upgraded to version 5.4.11 some time back. I would recommend that if you are not using iPod, DO NOT UPGRADE. After upgrading, it seems the resume memory for media player has just vanished. The system builds the media library after every single start up. Irritating, it can be sometimes. However, this update is useful if you are using iPod.

So far I had not used the "User Settings" for the EQ of HU. Every time I tried to change settings, I was missing it. Read the manual carefully and found how to do it. After selecting USER EQ, keep the "up" arrow on HU pressed for 3 seconds and you will see the seven band equaliser. Frequency range is from 64Hz onwards. Although it has not made a huge difference, yet the sound has improved a few notches due to the changed EQ settings.

Got wheel alignment and balancing done at Global Tyres yesterday. He had Linea specs for alignment available in his PC. Charges were 350 for alignment and 100 for balancing. What I am curious about is that the guy there said balancing is required only for front wheels. Why so?

My doubt; whatever has been done, is it satisfactory/right? In the final outcome, I can see that hardly any setting has been altered. Attaching the alignment report.

5000 KM Update

Eight months of ownership and 5000 KM. A completely hassle free existence and experience so far. I have not been munching miles as some other Linea owners have been. So I guess buying a petrol is much justified.

In last eight months I have visited A.S.S on three ocassions. Once for first service, second for replacement of clutch slave cylinder, third for change of those notorious beadings on B Pillar. All these times, experience at Concorde Kochi has been pleasant and has never made me leave with bad taste.

I had got the wheel alignment done recently and it was not properly done by Global tyres. On centering the steering, car had a left inclination. 5K was also the occasion to get the wheel alignment "fixed". So went to Global Tyres today and they changed the toe settings a bit. Still the car was not keeping straight. So these guys interchanged the front left and right tyres and the problem was rectified. However, after this interchange, I saw the MID showing 4110Km . Where the heck did 900 odd km vanish? The guys at GT had not explanation. Any body with any bright ideas?

I am planning a longish drive from 15 May. Trip will be Kochi- Waynad - Kodai - Valparai - Kochi. Expect to cover about 1000km. Will post detailed report and pictures on completion.

After these eight months of ownership, I can say that I am a happy Linea owner and so far satisfied with A.S.S.

It really sounds strange and fishy brother. Did you have any talk with the Concorde Motors over the same? Eagerly waiting to know the reason.

Btw, I wish you a Happy and Safe Journey . Hopefully waiting for some stunning photos from you (Especially HDR's)

NutsnBolts,

Great to see your reviews after a long time. As i switch my key to start position, the music system switches on automatically. Though , i had changed the settings AutoPlay to "Off".

Bangalore traffic has been awe-fully bad for linea. One doesn't enjoy the bad roads, nagging traffic and unassuming cabs & two wheelers. They have the right of way. I have to take my linea out once in three days on the new airport road late night, to get the feel of my beautiful linea. It is just too good to drive on the highway. I can see you planning lots of get away with your Linea. I think, i need to switch over to this mode every week end.

Recently, i was browsing the net, where i came across the "Dragon Performance Kit" , which claims to improve the turbo lag in multijet engines like linea. Also, some claim that the BHP has gone upto 118 BHP from 90 BHP. Anyone has any idea on this.

Fiat recommends normal diesel for the linea. I have been filling the gas from SHELL only. I do not know, whether that diesel is suitable for this, as shell diesel is comparatively better in quality and costly. Any suggestion on this.

Will be going to TASS shortly to get the front right OVRM glass. Some enthusiast driving in wrong lane in his josh machine banged into the OVRM and glass fell off. During this change will enquire about the mystery of vanishing kilometers.

Sir if I remember correctly, Auto Play off works only for the USB or CD player. It doesn't work for the radio.

You must go for a longish drive to enjoy the great driving pleasure. I haven't heard about Dragon performance kit but I feel present power sufficient for me as I hardly ever need to explode from static positions. You can read about modding here http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/modify...rformance.html

I am not sure about shell, however, I feel using the manufacturer recommended fuel is better option. That way, you can't go wrong

Damage

Came back yesterday from the five day trip to Kalpeta - Kodai - Valparai - Athirapally and back. On the first leg to Kalpeta, near Kunamakallam, managed to ram into the back of a bus without any working tail lights . Dent on bonnet and dislodged bumper were the result on immediate inspection. On closer look, there was a crack on inner side of front right head light, front bumper chrome beading was damaged, front grille hook on bumper end was broken. Completed the trip with car in this condition.

After

After reaching back, took it to concorde and SA advised to go for the insurance claim. I agree with him as the damage is heavy though looks very superficial. Going to give the car to their body shop today. Will post the results on getting it back. Will be posting full travelogue later.
