That's sad. Yes, NH1 appears to have flooded out near Ambala as per news reports, so I guess your car getting back to you would be delayed by a few days. You can't even go and complete the trip now, what with curfew in Srinagar!

Update: The vehicle reached Nagpur, the Mechanical are all good, but the worst part, the vehicle paint is completely damaged, the paint expert of Service Center say no option other than a COMPLETE REPAINT, to make the matter worse, there are BIG DENTS all around, this all happened when the vehicle was transported from Leh to Jammu, they covered the Scorpio with I believe plastic cover all around and tied it with ropes the plastic cover friction all around including roof has done the damage and its too deep to recover apart from repainting, and the bumps all around created the dents, the rear left light was complete smashed they replaced it but dent is TOO BIG.

I am yet to hear anything on all these from Mahindra, my Scorpio is looking like a JUNK right now, after seeing the Scorpio today I first time feeling bad with the way this is getting handled!!!

Hoping to see a better resolution from Mahindra!

I have left the Scorpio in the Service Center as of today, I need to get the third service also done, as the odo read 14800km, there were lots of image taken by Service center too, because they too don't want to get into anything unwanted so they got it photographed of each and everything, will get the images tomorrow and will update, the vehicle reached Nagpur by 4 PM and I went there to have a look and later get the service done, but after looking at Scorpio, I need the resolution and direction from Mahindra first!

That's awful! I hope M&M resolves the issue on a war footing, and hope you get a sufficiently decent paint quality. Also suggest replacing dented panels, and not repairing/beating out the dents.

Unbelievable. How could M&M not transport it properly? I understand that they would not have had access to car trailers in those areas but even local movers and packers know how to tie cars on trucks and transport them properly.

They could have even towed it at a slow speed ensuring its safety. This is simply too much of carelessness. Now, what remains to be seen is the finish of the repainting done.
Pramod, I would suggest that if you could, get it repainted at M&M and not at the dealer unless you are sure of the dealer's equipment and expertise levels.

Raise a hue again and it should be done.

Few Images

Attached is the few images of the paint damages that I have taken.
Have a look at the damage they clearly indicates that its caused by the friction.

Unfortunately, devdath, the road conditions in Ladakh are so terrible that damage in transit is inevitable. New cars have to be driven to their showrooms in Leh for this reason, also one reason why locals prefer to buy them in Srinagar or Jammu and drive down themselves.

I hope that M&M will get it repaired at their cost.

very sorry to hear the state of your car. this is not what we expect from a company like mahindra.

if as hvkumar stated, if the roads are really that bad, they should have taken some other precautions. but all said & done, the damage has happened. waiting to see how mahindra compensates for this.

all this in a new scorpio, sigh.

good to hear that the vehicle has reached your town. Am sure M&M will look into the painting issue.

Have you test driven the car ? How is the gearbox behaving ?

No I have not driven the vehicle yet, I was so disappointed after seeing the vehicle that all my enthusiasm of driving it after 5 week was crushed, but did talk to the driver and the service manager, they told me the vehicle is performing good, no mechanical problem.

And that would be sufficient?!!

I would hate to be the victim!
First the car strands you, literally on the roof of the world!
Then it is battered during transportation, due to sheer incompetence and callousness.
Then it is repaired and repainted!

Would anything less than a new car be a satisfactory solution? To say nothing about the anguish caused; which, IMO, needs to be compensated for by a cash award.
After all M&M are doing their road trials, using the paying customer as a guinea pig.

Really sorry to hear what happened to the Scorp @pramod. Lets hope that M&M sorts out the issue proactively. If they don't, make sure that you take legal actions against them. We all are with you
