2010 Scorpio Automatic 4x4: Initial Report

Got, the delivery of 2010 scorpio AT 4wd Airbag, and all yesterday 1st Jan 2010.
And yes it's a 2010 VIN the year code is A means 2010 and Month again A indicating January.
So the question is answered, I got the AT 4WD :-)

Pramod
PS: Will update later today with other details, the only new ghing is Airbag and that too is having some problem so the airbag lights are ON for now, as the have not yet received the diagonostic instrument for airbag :-(

Congrats Buddy:

I booked with air bags as well. I guess, we will be the guinea pigs for this new feature :-).

Can you please post a pic of the dash. Curious to see how the air-bags are placed.

AT 4WD Airbags Pictures

uploading few images of airbag, auto , 4wd switch front and back on the vehicle.

I want to change the tyre from HT to AT, the dealer talked to a tyre shop and they agreed to change to AT at 800 per tyre, is this a good cost or what?

Both vehicle ;-) I just have this one now, the old one is gone, Rs 800 was for goodritch and as my luck stand they were sold out when I reached there today, I got Geolandar now, it costed 1100 per tyre. I am not sure if this is a good deal or bad but I just got these.
I hope and pray people get their AT 4WD faster that will at least start the tools/part flowing faster. Yet to go for a some long drive to feel and see the difference, but some of the visual difference from my VLX, now the reverse light on the mirror only comes up when I put in reverse rather than staying on all the time, turn indicator now have a blip sound and the hands free works perfectly for making and receiving call, I am enjoying the hands free. I am yet to come get along with AT, every time if I slow or push the accelerator my left hand goes to gear and left foot want to press clutch, this will take some time to get used too.

I know what you mean, having moved from MT to AT to again back to MT.
During my days with the AT, the feature that I used to love the most was the hill descent lock ( I think thats the correct name). No need to coordinate between clutch, hand brake, accelerator while starting on an incline. But driving an AT used to make me terribly lazy and sleepy on long drives (nothing to do you see) Thank god didn't have Cruise Control else would have become totally useless.

Btw one great advantage of driving a AT, you can brake with your left foot like racing drivers

@Promod:

Thanks for the Pics. As I correctly figured, the useful cubby on the passenger side dash is gone to fit the air bag. I suppose there are enough cubby holes in the gear lever console to make up.

When you give us a write up, please let me know how the M (Engine Braking) mode works down the slope? does it hold the gear? if so upto what rpm?

I have not tested the M but here you can have the review of Mohnish who has AT, http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-d...ml#post1540531
Regarding spaces, the current version with Airbag, AT and 4WD has eaten up lots of space that where there in previous version, even the ash tray is gone now!! but the current version cup holder is good, the previous version was just a "hole" but now its proper to hole cup and bottles of multiple diameter.

Congrats, Pramod, on getting the first mHawk 4wd AT on T-BHP!

The grab handle in front of the front passenger seat also seems to have gone, along with the cubby hole, due to the fitment of left front airbag.

Can the passenger airbag be switched off?

Edit: Finally, the title of the thread has been redeemed, after almost a full year of discussions!

Congrats on AT/4WD. I would have loved to have airbags but didnt have the option on 4wd then.

The cup holders have changed - however I see you are missing the cup handle cut out - will make drinking morning coffee in a cup with handle much more difficult - unless the bisleri bottle is hiding that.

Yokos at 1100 a piece is good price. I was given close to the same range.
