Accident!

I was to go to near Chandrapur 160 kms from Nagpur to attend a marriage and on way I met with an accident just 10 kms from Nagpur, there was an traffic jam for almost 3 hrs and when it opened up everyone was just rushing out of this, a Tavera in front of me, once the traffic was clear just stopped in the right lane, to avoid this I tried to steer way and have to brush with the back side of Tavera, I stooped to gauge the damage and meanwhile the Tavera guy just speedup and got away, that guy even don't bother to see what was his own damage!!! the driver side window shatter, rearviwe mirror gone and the door complete Jammed, I had to come out from the other side. Called police station, they inquired if anyone is injured I said no, then can I drive the vehicle I said yes, they suggested I drive to police station and make a complaint. I went to police station and have to wait for almost 1.30 hrs to just make a report, after taking my report, the police guy told me to come back after 3 days to take the "pancnaama" which will be required for Insurance, any way I went straight to service center, the vehicle has been there and tomorrow insurance and other formality will start, I hurt a alot to see the vehicle in this condition. Good part no body was hurt, I was not even able to not the number of that Tavera, but could see and makeout no body was hurt in that vehicle too.
Lesson learned never ever divert you attention for a moment when you have crossed the JAM or traffice area, I was so relaxed to come out of that JAM after 2 hours and momentarily accelerated, if I would have been careful I would have kept lot of distance to break in time rather than to steer away to save a collision.

Anyway I hope the vehicle comes back to it original glory after the work, which may take somewhere 1 week.

Pramod, sorry to hear of the accident, relieved that neither the car has been damaged badly nor has anyone been injured.

yes sir with god grace nothing happened to me and other persons, the only damaged that happened seems to metal sheet, I don't see any structural or mechanical damage, but would leave that to Service guys, this is first time in 11 years, I am not sure what would be the cost and what need to do and how? I have already told the Service Center to go for "new" rather than "repair" as this is just 1 month old vehicle and first time I wanted to keep the vehicle for long.
Would request others to give me what need to be checked and what would be the approx cost that I would be seeing.

I would get the estimate tomorrow, would update that cost of repair once I get that from Service Center.

Ouch, Pramod, that hurt... So sorry to learn about the accident. With a new car, your insurance cover should pay fully for doors, panels and paint, but unfortunately only 50% on the stickers and cladding. Mercifully M&M parts prices are not so sky-high.

Wishing your Scorp a quick and perfect repair, and wishing you quick recovery from the traumatic memories...

Edit: OT, but does the front cladding have "automatic" embossed or stickered onto it? You appear to have lost that particular one.

I realized that too, but it was too late to go back and pick that cladding panel, anyway it was sticker and either I will have to remove the other to make it symmetric or else they might have that as spare which looks difficult!
Good to know that Mahindra spares are not costly, I hope Insurance are also paid for applied labor.

Labor is covered in Insurance so no worries on that account.

The front door can be fully replaced- insurance pays for that. If need be the rear door and the front right fender too. The inner door upholstery and the ORVM's fall under the plastics category and so may be the cladding.Black is an ideal paint and matching the newly applied with that already on the body will need no much effort.Looks wise also the dent and paint will be hard to distinguish once the work is done.
Glad to know that the SUV will be back to its normal condition very soon in a week.
