Why do you say that Steeroid? I normally shift at 55-60 as well if the road is clear & my clutch lasted 100000 kms. Perhaps some vehciles pack up faster, please share your experiences for our benefit, thanks.

Booked on Dec13 and still awaiting for delivery date. My colour is jewel violet. It looks better on road than the pic. I have taken 1.6 zxi and added alloy wheels, sony mp3 (not sure which model they will give), chrome boot handle (rs 3300), leather seat cover (rs 11K), rear spoiler (6K). They promised teflon coatings etc free of charge. Mine is non abs as with abs there is a long waiting period.

Well, these guys over-committed on the delivery period didn't they? We booked on 15th december (SXI with ABS) & still waiting - hopefully end of this week! Jewel violet is a beautiful color, the vehicle I test drove was that color but its not available in SXI and my daughter has vehemently refused to go for it even if it was available!

Does your dealer have spoiler in stock?

Abhibh, what accessories did you go for & what did you get for free? Please share your experience so that I can prepare myself for the battle! I intend to go for the Teflon etc (which I'll try & get for free on the grounds that they have delayed delivery but not sure if that's going to work) & for the spoiler but thats not in stock so gotta wait I guess.

My comments were about the 80% of driving in 5th gear, not the shift speed. One of our drivers in an african country went through this 'advanced training lessons' thing that the HR guys had organized. He promptly went on to drive in 5th most of the time, except when I was in the car (it was my wife's car) because I'd bark at him.

Pretty soon the Civic needed a replacement of clutch bearings and plates...the car gave very good economy (Felix the driver calculated a regular 17kmpl plus), but I guess the company lost a lot more in the replacement.

Good driving does not necessarily mean driving around in the tallest gear all the time. Drive in the gear that the engine is comfortable in, depending on traffic and road conditions. I find 3rd to be the best for traffic in most vehicles.

Absolutely agree with you on that. I guess we (tsk, abhibh & me) were mainly talking about switching to 5th gear at 50-60 in clear road conditions. Obviously one cannot do it in traffic - its only when you have a relatively empty stretch with reasonably fast moving traffic.

Hi,

I waited for 1.5 + months for the delivery so it is ok if u have booked on 15 dec and have not recieved the delivery. My Colour was Vitro.

Dunno what the dealer had in stock. Here we have 2 Dealers and before buying the car we went to both of them and tried to sequeez their nuts but at the end was only abel to get mud flaps and footmats. If it wasnt for a stupid guy i would have got teflon for free. The guy gave the dealer straight offer that he will pay 5k more if they can give him the car within the week. and after listening to that the sales papu said "Sir see they r willing to pay 5k more for fast delivery." and at this point what can we say.

I went for Vitro because i didnt want to pay rs 33k more as for black and silver colour u have to buy the package of Rs 33k which includes Alloys, Leater seats and Chrome finish.

Also some cons of Fiesta.
1.) NO engine protection plate.
2.) Side mirrior can break very easily.

So here is the story and the deadline is 22 is max u can get in this car in city without ac. So dont expect more.

Ya,

I also think that was crazy. But oh well i loved the Vitro colour as that coulr gives 2 different tones shades. Though i will write a e-mail to company and ask them about that 33k extra thing..

Uh-oh! I thought the side mirror was more malleable than the Ikon and twisted inwards on impact to prevent outright breakage but looks like I gotta be careful!

The car has FINALLY arrived at the dealer last evening so hopefully we'll get delivery today. have decided to only go in for the Teflon & underbody protection at the moment and will wait for the spoiler.

Hi guys (and specially Ashish_11 & Abhibh), picked her up from the dealer late evening on Wednesday - 1.6 sxi with ABS & EBD, Moondust silver. Got the Anti-rust & Teflon treatment done (managed to squeeze a 50% discount on that). As you'd mentioned Abhibh, the high demand has made it difficult to negotiate discounts, more so when there are those who offer a higher price to get delivery!

There was a blister on the front left tyre which they did their best to convince me to retain but I got them to change it. Spoiler not in stock so far, carpet floor mats out of stock (so they've given rubber mats for the time being that they've promised to replace once they receive stocks).

About the car, what can I say? So far, has met all my expectations, have only done 150kms so far....what impresses me most is the smoothness of the engine and the disguised power underneath the hood - most times you don't realize how fast you are going till you see the needle. Brakes are SUPER.

It was a nightmare getting out of the Dealer's showroom though as the highway was CHOC-A-BLOC so we had a tension-filled half an hour or so before we managed to take a u-turn and go towards the the Mehrauli-Gurgaon road.

Its been a pleasurable driving experience so far & I'll keep you guys posted. Although its my wife's car, I'm dominating the driving bit but all's fair I guess.....!

Thats true - it is quite smooth compared to the 'beast' Ikon. Maybe because of that, it does not feel as fast as the Ikon, though figures prove otherwise.

You said it and my Ikon 1.6 now seems positively NOISY and a trundler after two days of the Fiesta. Though, what with the crazy Delhi traffic, I can fly through with the Ikon with no worries about scratches but obviously have to back off ever so often with the new baby!
