I have bought a thar a few months back and have modified the same to include hard top/A/c/ complete interiors and bumper redesign...

Shiva - A grand welcome to TBHP and what a way to introduce yourself.
Your Thar looks beautiful, but we'd like to see more pics. Please can arrange that? Also, can you please PM me the details and contacts for getting similar work done?

Can you please let us know more about the AC fitting. Is it the AC kit from Mahindra or a different one? A few pics will help a lot.

Your Thar looks rocking!!

Cheers
Carrot.

Shiva, this is awesome.
I hope you have captured timeline shots of the whole process, and costs.
Cos you know youre gonna have to start a thread detailing everything now.
The thar appealed to me as OTS capable GP, and now that i see the work youve carried out, the remaining doubts about base creature comforts are slightly cleared, but its still a lot of money, eh?
help people like me, no?

re: Review: 1st-gen Mahindra Thar (2011 - 2019)

@mayankk: I could not capture the time line shots of the process, since i could spend only weekends during the customisation. Just for the hardtop the cost is not high, for complete details you may contact Mr. Bimbra (bimbraindustries.com).

@carrot_eater: Thank you The AC is very effective. AC ready kit of Mahindra was completely removed. Superking AC has been fitted in the thar, with little modification. I have fit the fan and the condensor under the thar since my Offroading to that extent is limited, But i have been tested the vehicle to the extent feasible and my AC fitment underneath has not posed any problems.

re: Review: 1st-gen Mahindra Thar (2011 - 2019)

I guess this is the same Thar done up by Bimbra Industries.Have seen the pics on the mahindra thar facebook page as well.

How much did this cost you and is it removable.

About the AC i met a guy up in LEH with a Red color Mahindra Thar with a delhi registration. He mentioned that he got the AC installed from a guy in delhi who installs National AC's.Some Imported Ac fitment and he's done an amazing job.He had no problems in the heat of delhi and the heater worked in Leh as well.

Thar is a really powerful jeep. When all other innovas had problems pulling our Backup Bolero at Sarchu, This Thar just pulled it out on the main road and helped starting it by pulling it.Amazing vehicle and great owners as well.Nice bunch of helpful guys. They were really having an adventure with a fancy tent and all.

re: Review: 1st-gen Mahindra Thar (2011 - 2019)

We have picked up 5 Thar's for our site office. The cars are fun to drive off road especially when it rains but once they hit the road it is like I have gone back more than 20 Years.

I guess for the next iteration they should include Factory Fitted AC + Hard TOp as minimum options.

@ Shiva, the front facing seats look really good. I was looking at it as Car for daily use initial but dropped the Idea after having driven it for more than 60 Kms on Highway

Cheers

Spotted a Chennai Registered Thar Crde today on the GST. Guess the sales for Chennai has begun.

Dear Jaggu

Would you know what critical niggles are being sorted out. I am aware of the fuel tank issue - what else is getting sorted out?

Cheers
