Re: Pune -Diveagar

Hi SUN,

What place did you stay? Im planing a trip to Diveagar in Feb and im searching good accommodation for a family.
Also can other suggest some decent places, Google generates a lot of options that are not necessarily good (as shown in photos/brouchers).
TIA.

Re: Pune -Diveagar

I went 2 weekends back and stayed at Maitreya Beach Resort. Very clean rooms and bathroom. Excellent food. The beach is a 5-8 min walk through the trees from the back of the resort.

Re: Pune -Diveagar

what is the best route from pune to Diveagar.

Route 1:- Pune => Mulshi=> Tamhini ghat => Mangaon => Dive Agar
Route 2:- Pune => Khopoli => Mangaon => Dive agar

I am driving in my Getz 1.1 with 5 adult and a kid on board.
I am worried about the bad road and poor facility on "Route:1".

Kindly suggest the best route / Road condition etc.

Re: Pune -Diveagar

Route 2 is a better option and will take less time. But Route 1 is more scenic.
I went to Diveagar last time in Route 1 and had no problem . Road condition is okay.
But avoid passing the ghat during evening time.

and thereafter the road gets bad - there are plenty of broken patches and repair / relaying work is going on. General condition was like this. Took about 3 hours from Mangaon to Chandani Chowk (a couple of halts for about 15 - 25 minutes). If you plan to take a bike, be prepared for a pretty sore bottom! If it is a car, the suspension is going to be tested. But the ride will be worth it - and you will be rewarded with the "Palas" - "flame of the forest" in full bloom - that is a sight to see....

This road is of Vile MIDC which is being setup newly. It connects to the road going to Mangaon at some distance. One needs to take this left road after descending the Tamhini ghat.

Route 2 is better. It will take less time as welll as less pains. Route 1 distance is less but you can't up the speed since the road has lots of curves.
IMO Route 2 has better facilities than route 1 espcially when you travelling with a kid.

Re: Pune -Diveagar

If you are taking 5 adults and a kid on board, I would say Route 2 would be better. As already mentioned by others, Route 1 has too many curves. However it is much more scenic than Route 2, especially if you take the expressway often.

Also very important to ensure that you are well stocked on water (you do get mineral water everywhere though!) and that you leave at the right timings to avoid rush hour traffic in Route 2.
If I were in your shoes, I would take Route 1 to go out and then see if I want to return that way. If it is not to your liking you can always return by Route 2!

Re: Pune -Diveagar

Good one KALINGA.
Did you take the same route for your return trip or the other one? How much time did you take and was traffic OK? Please also post your feedback and some pictures of the cottage/ rooms when you can.

Re: Pune -Diveagar

@ selfdrive :- Yes, i took the same route for return trip. It took 4 hr to reach at pune.
Traffic was less during morning hr.
Speed of car :- Express Highway => 80 - 90 Kmph
Other SH => 50 - 80 Kmph (Depends on the road / traffic etc)

Soory not much pics of that cottage, let me search. i will post later.

@ ASHISPALLOD :- The weather in Diveagar is dam hot now.
A/C room is must for now a days. But evening time is good.

And there is no off season room tariff at Diveagar.
