Sahi Gautam, I too like such surprises. I had done something similar, I drove down from Pune when everyone was expecting me to to reach the next day via Train. Its fun

Used to quite often! and last surprise was when i flew into Mumbai to pick wifee returning from US, and she just ignored me and went pushing the cart to the taxi. Yeah blame it on jetlag

Sam, I joined this forum in August 2009 and read on one of the threads about your travelogues. Got around to reading one only now and gosh!, how stupid have I been to miss it all this while. Fantastic writing, amazing photos!! Most of all, your zest for life is infectious. It is getting to me, making me plan something as impulsive and crazy.
