| Team-BHP Support | If I really got involved in "Four Weddings", I would have had to invite you all to my "Funeral"  KUMARAPARVATHA TREK PICS Pic 1: We took a night bus from Bangalore to Kukke Subramanya (near Mangalore). The sunroof of our bus was held in its place by "Bindu".  Pic 2: We reached Kukke Subramanya at around 5:30 AM. This place is famous for the Kukke Subramanya Temple - where Lord Subramanya (Serpent Lord) is worshipped. In the forests around Kukke Subramanya, King Cobra sightings are common - but we didn't find any, thankfully.  Pic 3: Elephant taking a shortcut.  Pic 4 & 5: If you have trouble getting a bride, you could be having Naga Dosha. Then this is the place to visit. Although we were not sure if we had Naga Dosha, we got into the temple anyway and all of us asked Lord Subramanya for Aishwarya Rai.   Pic 6: After breakfast, we then headed towards Kumaraparvatha. In this trek, you will find signboards everywhere. If there are no signboards, you will atleast find "arrow marks" carved on trees by previous trekkers.  Pic 7 & 8: After 15 minutes of trekking.   Pic 9: After 60 minutes of trekking. Unlike others, I look fresh because cats don't sweat. Plus, us cats are not designed by nature to carry heavy loads. So I always make sounds like "ugh, aah, its heavy" when somebody tries to load my rucksack with food stuff.  Pic 10: After a couple of hours, the forests give way to "grasslands" - and we can see the Western Ghats.  |

| Team-BHP Support | No, no that's actually self-shot photo. I've told you before - I have freakishly long arms KUMARAPARVATHA TREK PICS CONTD: Pic 1: Who on earth would try to tease a King Cobra? Anyway, we were the only wild animals on the trail.  Pic 2: By around lunch time, we reached Bhattara Mane (Bhat's House) - a large house in the middle of nowhere, whose owner welcomes trekkers and offers them food & shelter - for a fee.  Pic 3: We were so darned tired & hungry, we ate with both hands. Food was as simple as it could get - Rice and Sambhar (no, not the animal), but boy, did it taste good!  Pic 4: Jagga's Mum always hand feeds him. Whenever she's not around, Lokesh steps in.  Pic 5: Our style of trekking - an afternoon siesta! (a bit off-topic, but I think Ford should have called their small car "Siesta" rather than "Figo")  Pic 6: The tent bag was quite heavy - so a little bit of ingenuity at work.  Pic 7: That's our destination - 5600ft tall Kumaraparvatha.  Pic 8, 9 & 10: Our immediate destination however was the Mantapa - a stone structure a few kms away from Bhattara Maney. The plan is to fill up our water bottles at a small stream near the Mantapa, stay put for the night and leave for Kumaraparvatha the next day. However, the owner of the house had mentioned that the stream near Mantapa had dried up completely - so we probably won't be able to reach the top. Anyway, we carried on our trek to the Mantapa.    |

MX6 have seen you saying you love snakes in some previous post and also Smartcats reply to that. But yes, its true that on seeing a snake people react by getting a stick/ stone and kill it. Poisonous or not. And regarding teasing yes there are some psychotic people who gets a pleasure doing the same. Don't remember where, guess its was in Hyderabad zoo not sure read in news paper about a drunk man who got in to tigers cage to prove don't know what only to be mauled to death. | |
