Re: YetiBlog® - Greece!

Above BLue is everything the website offered and more. The hotel is built with great detail in mind.

No 2 rooms are similar, each one has a different theme (and a different price too!) Suites are called Pearl, Felicity, Heaven and more.
While we have chosen the entry-level Pearl Suite, the other rooms have private heated Jacuzzis overlooking the breathtaking view.

We are welcomed by the friendliest people and proceed with our descent in to the rooms. It is unbelievable. Let me not waste words and show you.

The descent into the rooms area, further down the cliff. The architecture is simply stunning.
Something that our lounges and restobars try so hard to replicate, this feeling. We're at the source!

P.S. I know. It's unbelievable isn't it???

Thanks for taking us along on this beautiful voyage mate.

Thank you. I'm travelling again (in real time, lol) and will continue later in the day. The blog is currently based in Santorini (Thira) which is in the south of Greece in the Aegean Sea.

Athens will be later.

Re: YetiBlog® - Greece!

Stunning place and great write up!

Indeed a lot of resorts and lounges/restaurants here at home try hard to recreate the magic of Greece, but I am sure its impossible to replicate it.

Re: YetiBlog® - Greece!

Evening at Imerovigli.

YetiBlog® - Greece! (and a wee bit of Germany)-1.jpg
We walk around, looking at the hotel for a bit.

I decide it's time to shower and change and perhaps catch the sunset. Those who know me well, know how much I love and need the sun. It's a great location to view a sunset.
Well, maybe. The clouds have not been our friends. Let's see.

YetiBlog® - Greece! (and a wee bit of Germany)-2.jpg
When we retire (well, literally, walk off the terrace into our room) I realise that whoever has built our room, did so with love.

Where's a white TV, a white music system and even a white laptop at our disposal. There's soft music playing and the attention to detail in the room is top-notch. Let me show you.

See what I mean by lots of love?

The amazing thing is that no 2 rooms are similar. We're of course in the Pearl room.

While it's beautiful, I don't think we're going to be blessed with a sunset to remember. Or maybe...

What a place. I'm in raptures, even though the wind bites and pinches me through my windbreaker.

For the evening we go to the nearest local Taverna to try some local delicacies.

The Greek Salad, how big is it?
He doesn't hear the "big". It'sa lika the greek salad he says, smiling at Jenny. Gosh this guy is really quite hunky. I had no idea the Greeks were such good looking people.

The food is outstanding. The "burger" turns out to be a meatball filled with feta. The greek salad is filled with feta. We order a feta fried with honey on the side and the other food all comes with feta.
Except the Tzatziki.

To be honest, the food is great, even though I have feta coming out of my ears. Of course, I've forgotten my camera and have no photos of the taverna!

It is getting cold and a passing shower does not make it any better.

Aren't you coming to the room??
Yes I am. I just need to take a few tripod shots.

First I peer over the edge to see if anyone is sitting naked in their private jacuzzis.
YetiBlog® - Greece! (and a wee bit of Germany)-12.jpg
No. Dammit.

Then I breathe in the fresh air and set up the camera for a few evening shots.

That group of lights on the right is the village of Oia - pronounced EEYA. (someone mentioned they were going there later in the year)

One photo from my room of the terrace:
YetiBlog® - Greece! (and a wee bit of Germany)-16.jpg

And finally I stop for a moment to thank fate. For making me the yeti, for giving me the life I have and for bringing me here. If there was someone who was blessed and appreciated it, it would be me tonight.

YetiBlog® - Greece! (and a wee bit of Germany)-17.jpg

Goodnight swimming pool. I'll see you in the morning.
