The recommendations that are used for stock tyres are good enough for 195s' also.

Manufacturer recommends 36 PSI in the front and 33 in the back for stock tyres on VDI. These pressures are too high for 195/60 15" tyres. You may want to use 31 PSI in the front and 28 in the rear for your tyres. If you use 36 and 33 the ride will be very bouncy and may affect your suspension.

I follow the same 29 PSI for my ZXi shod with 195 alloys.

OT: How often do you guys check tyre pressure ? For normal city driving that is..

Keep 30~32 psi for all four tires. Try both 30 & 32 psi, stick to whichever gives the optimum balance between ride quality and handling.

Once u feel that u have got the right pressure going then stick to the same place where u got the air filled from.. Changing places and machines also causes variation.

guys .. i live in SHIMLA and Chandigarh.. that is both hill driving and plains,, in plains while driving the car tends to understeer... in hills it makes a slight noise but not screech.. the tyre is accelare...i hate this tyre.. due to the alloy design the tyres jet out say about an inch.. how wud it affect the tyre wear..?

Very true... I just got mine upgraded to 185/70 and I use 34 in the front and 32 at the back... The fronts more obviously because of the heavier engine... good advice though dieselfan, the bounce will murder the suspension eventually...

For my Swift VDi, I stick to 31psi for front and 30psi for my rear tyres - Yoko 195/60/R15. Decent ride and fantastic road grip.

One more thing, does nitrogen help.. ? i did had all my tyres nitro-filled in the swift vxi i owned prior to this ride,i did not feel any significant difference in the ride.

The reason you did not feel any significant difference is because it does not make any significant difference.

can anyone tell me how 195/70/r14s would perform for swift. they are available in michilen xmi+.

but how good would it be performance wise? os if you suggest a different size than this then which one would be the best with a peted swift.

It is only a 1.5 % percent difference. This much difference is perfectly fine. Performance wise also 195 size will be better.

and can i put this size on my stock rims...?
i dont wanna go for alloys.

For the stock rims I would not recommend any thing above 185. 195 will start to baloon outward too much. For 195 you will need wider rims.
