Can someone please tell me what the correct tyre pressure is for a swift diesel using 185/70 14" tyres? I'm currently using 36F and 33R but those are the pressures mentioned on the inner door and for stock tyres.

Experts? Please guide...

33 in both front and rear tyres would be fine.

Try 34 front and 32 rear when cold, see how it drives, rides with any eye on FE & tire wear (should be flat). Then decide if you want to reduce a pound or two further both the axles.

36/33 is for 165 80's.

I used to do 29 psi both front and rear. Now have 27 psi on the front and 29 at the rear. Its 195/60/15 btw.

You'll bend your rims with these tyre pressures.
Run 30 psi cold, nitrogen.

Petrol or Diesel? Petrol need less pressure and yes 15 inch 30-32 psi will be ideal, based on preference and wear.

i use 30 psi in all tyre (petrol swift) no issue till now (10k)

Diesel is heavier in front with slightly stiffer spring, hence the higher psi esp in front

Actually I've reduced 2 psi in the front to enable better braking. The A-Drives aint really inspiring confidence as such. Might as well move to PP2s very soon.

And yes, its a Petrol.

Yeah I want to avoid even PSI across all tyres since I have a diesel. I think I'll try 34 front and 32 rear as recommended by Jaggu...

Also, I'm getting alloys installed this saturday, keep the same PSI?

Even I have 195/60/15 on my Swift ZXi and I am maintaining 29 all around, the same psi recommended for stock tyres. Are you suggesting increasing all 4 to 30-32 or just the front?

Alloys doesnt change psi unless you are upsizing.

Stock for swift P is 185 70 14 is 30 IIRC and 165 80 14 is 33 all around, and my theory on upsizing is for each upsize reduce psi by approx by 2. so in your case with petrol swift 29 should be fine.

Swift P and D have diff psi for front tires! For D Front is different/higher from rear also

One can set psi based on ones preference and usage, running less psi on heavy highway usage cars can be devastating on rims, more than anything else, as nitrous has rightly pointed. Only other proper guidance is watching tire wear, if your thread is wearing out on the sides (most common), increase psi by 1-2 pounds. Only difficulty is to determine the difference will take some time.

Wanted Swift OE Alloys/Tyres

3 alloys/tyres damaged in the process, looking for 3 OE alloys (new series 2008 onwards). My car sported Swift OE ZXI alloys+Michelin 185/70/R14 tyres
Since VDI models dont come with alloys, insurance is not covered for them. I live in bangalore, but the car is now in Ahmedabad awaiting repairs.
Hence any tbhpians having booked/recently bought Swift ZXI & planning a alloy/tyre upgrade, pls let me know I am wiling to buy.
So if you can ship it I can pay the money into your bank account directly.

Does upsizing the tire, say from 14" to 15", change the speedometer settings also?
I think all these readings will be calibrated for stock conditions.
