I am not alloy fan,would stick to silver rims(I love them).what about height 14 or15?
To fit a 195 tyre on steel rim you will need a 6j rim that you will get only in 15", i don't have idea about 14" steel rims with 6j.
When you are spending so much on tyre why not buy alloys, swift with alloy looks really good. Buy the what is the color of your swift ?

Would look for carolla rims and get a 15".Is S-drive available in 195-60-15?
Putting anything more than 185 tyres (globally accepted suzuki spec) on a car with 2 digit Hp isnt the best idea.
Car feels much heavier, power loss can be felt, steering feels heavier... when compared to driven on factory 165 tyre car. Probabaly effects your mileage and pickup also. You are not going to go faster - you are going to become like a ROAD-ROLLER (see my icon on left hehe)
If you believe in "show" then go for it, and keep in mind, reducing the profile means reducing the rubber, hence more bumpy ride = more rattles, more wear/tear to suspension components.
185 is an all rounder, comfort + performance
I am not specifically talking about 195...I am just trying to say too much is not necessary...like some people putting 205 + and so on.... Also 205 type tyre may damage your Fenders, as there wont be room left for suspension travel :)
Is there such a drastic difference in 195 and 185?
Plz suggest Tyre in 195-60-15 profile!If it's the right profile?Low road noise would be a high priority.
I agree with aerohit on some points like bumpy ride,mileage but on the other hand you get stability which you don't get with 165 they are total waste, we have many bhpians who are running their swift on 195/205 and i think even on 215 with no problem ask lbm he is running his swift on 17inchers with that black tape on.They all are happy with their ride.
If you are so confused why don't you test drive a swift with 15" rims on 195/60 tyre and then decide.
Finding a swift in Chandigarh with 195-60 would be quite a hard work,to be honest Karan!
I am not confused,will be opting for 19/60/15,suggest a good tyre is this profile.
there are many available in that size, Michelin/Yokohama/Bridgestone they all have some really good pattern and are reliable chose from any of these.

This is not true. when increasing the tyre width on the same wheel, profile does get reduced but not the tyre thickness. IMHO it will have no effect or ride/rattle or suspension components. All that will get affected if you increase the Dia of the wheel itself.

15" Lenso Samurai with Yokihama S-Drives.
Whatever size you upgrade try to keep the perimeter of the tyre same,Else it would have an effect on the mileage,power etc.Power in the sense torque.The speedo readingg would also change as the perimeter changes.One more way to use this factor is that suppose the perimeter is lesser then you can feel an increase in the low end torque ,and if the tyre size increases the final speed also tends to increase.Mileage of the car also increases as the DIA increases.

When you upsize you wheels that means you are changing the main thing related to suspension, upsize do cause some problem but 1" will not make a big difference and as far the ride quality is concerned when you upsize the rim by 1" you decrease the side wall by 20/30 mm, the sidewall works as cushion so lesser hight (sidewall) means more bumps.
Yokohama S-drive is not available in 195/60/15 profile,A-drive is available.Michelin is bit expensive then A-drive!Does Yokohama was a website for products available in India.
My friend will be getting delivery of his Swift VDi on Saturday. Now he wants to upgrade the stock tyre. He doesnt want anything fancy just something which is better than the stock JKs & which is available easily.
I understand that following sizes are suitable without compromising on mileage (actually VDi that should not be a problem :p)
185/70 R14
185/60 R14
He doesn't want to spend more than Rs 500 per tyre after exchange (wish to head to tyre shop straight from Showroom.)
Please advise on which make to choose, Thanks
