Thanks for the info though. What if i get 185/60/r14? Is it an ideal upsize or should simply chose 185/70/r14( the safest choice)

185/60/R14 is not an ideal upsize. it would have a deviation of more than 3%. 185/70/R14 is the ideal upsize and you get these size tyres in any brand.

Exactly what DieselFan said. Your best choice here if you're not installing alloys is to get 185/70 R14 as the upgrade.
Also... before deciding between tubeless and tubed tyres, please get the condition of your stock steel rims checked.

There's also a 195/60 R14 if you're so inclined.

DM - Stick to 185/70 if you're upgrading the tyres on the stock rims. If you're putting in alloys, you can even consider 195/60 R15.

Got Yokohama A drives 185/70 in exchange for the JK tornado for 8200 for 4. The comfort levels have improved and so has the grip. The dealer was trying to push 195/65 but I told him 195 on 5J rims is not suitable. He said we fit so many 195's everyday (Meaning "what do you know")

BTW The grooves in the Yokos tread pattern are very wide. Of the 12 cm wide footprint 3 grooves of 1 cm width allow only 9 cms of rubber to grip the tarmac. How did I measure? ran the trye over a clean piece of paper and used a scale. The attached dagram from Tyre Bibles depict a more "normal" expectation of rib width.

Used 34 psi F and 30 R. found it a bit stiff. so back to 32 30.

:DThat line gave it away! Sometime back he liked to 'fit' 185/60 (which is a wrong size for the swift) with the same catch line. BTW my car was the first time he fitted 195/65 on a swift.

Is it okay to have a 195/60/R15 spare when the remaining 4 tyres are 205/55/R15 ? Since both are 88 profile tyres.

That is ok. Dont worry about it too much. The rolling circumference is almost equal. Also, I assume the spare is going to be used only for a short distance till you get the punctured tyre repaired.

NO major cons.

Pros: You save cash.

Yes, it would be for short distances to repair punctures. The spare 195 that I have is brand new, while the other 4 have covered some 8k kms.

What is the current MRP for the Michelin PP2 ?

PP2 in which size? You need to tell me that! :p

Edit: I assume 205/55 R15. In that size, MRP is some 6125. No one sells it at that price though. Market rates should be around 5.7k

Whats the price of Yokohama ES100 195/60 R15? I checked at BK tyres & Jitesh told me that its available at the price of Rs 3700 per tyre.

Do you think the price he quoted is right according to Delhi market?

Also in some of the threads it has been mentioned that Yokohama ES100 are no longer in production. In that case should i go for Michelin Pilot Primacy?
