Anyways, you are correct. 16" alloys wont go well for swift. All these problems are bound to happen.

Good that you changed it before something major happened. The suspension would have been screwed badly in long run.

I'll be getting my swift VDi in two weeks time. I've decided to upgrade the stock tyres to 195/60 R15. I just happened to talk to a car accessory shopkeeper recently and he says that he is not sure whether the fifth tyre (extra one) with alloy fitted wud fit into its slot inside the car if it were upgraded to 195/60 R15. :Shockked: Is that true?

Can people with personal experience share their views on this issue as i personally find that hard to believe because-

1. there is an overall reduction in wheel diameter when compared to the stock ones, and

2. just an increase of 30mm in width when compared to the stock set.
Would that make the tyre+alloy over-sized to such a great extent that it actually doesn't fit into the slot allocated to it within the car??? please enlighten me. please:

Hi,

I was using 195/60/R15 and the spare wheel will fit in the spare wheel well. However, it will be a bit tight and will also bulge out a bit. Other than that there are no other issues what so ever.

I have now upgraded to 205/55/R15 and since the spare wheel does not fit in the spare wheel well, I have gone for only 04 tires. The spare wheel is 185/70/R14 which is stock on the Zxi I believe.

With regards to ride quality, the 195s have the best ride and are the best and maximum upgrade one should go for on the Swift. Eventhough I have upgraded to 205 S-Drives which look amazing but do compromise on ride quality a bit, I will definitely be going back to 195s during my next tire change.

My Swift VDI has completed around 40000km, NOw i am going for change tyre. My car don't have alloy wheel, what ever maruti provided the rim , same rim i am going to use the future also.
I don't have any option, which tyre & brand i am going to upgrade my car?
Only few option
1. Shall i go for tubeless?
2. Tyre should be reduce the rattle atleast minimum and long life with any furture problem

Please let me know ,

Well the tires you are using are already tubeless.

i didn't get you on the second point.can you describe it more clearly?

1.Same rim, Don't have alloy wheel
2.need tubeless tyre
3.Should be long life with out any problem
4. Warranty & Normal price ( Not more &not less)

The Bridgestones Turanzas ER-60 come at a good price and have a good tyre life. They have good sidewall protection , good for indian roads.

Go for 185/70 R14, this is the size on the Zxi. You can get these fitted on the stock rims. Price I guess is around the 3200/- mark, contact a dealer for the exact prices.

Get the XM1+. Much better grip in the wet. Much better ride comfort. Much more silent. A little expensive but totally worth it. Tyre life is also decent. You should get around 50k on them. They are also pretty robust. NO issues with that.

Thanks For your replies.. What's price for XM1+ ? The both tyres will reduce the rattling? Becasue JK tyre problem with hight rattling for not surface roads

XM1+ will be better for your "rattling problem", whatever it is!

XM1+ will be around 3600 and ER 60 will be around 3400 or so.

In the XM1+ which can better for stock rim? 50 % city drive and 50% long drive
