if you are looking for looks and comfortable ride 195/60r15 is the best option in which apollo acclere is damn cheap .....but if you wanna have sexy looks grip and sporty drive go on for 205/55r15 yokohoma sdrive....
better upsize on 15" rather than 14"

I had gone to take the PDI of my Swift before registration. Fortunately i am getting MRF's instead of JK. What i need to know is that what should be the exchange price for the MRF's with the rims.

hey ppl.. i am planning to upgrade to alloys on my swift vxi. I plan to upsize to 15 inches.

wanted to know is 205/55 R15 the right upgrade. wud it touch the tyre well with 5 passengers and also while making a complete turn.

planning to install lenso alloys with yokohama s drives or maxxis

budget - 35k to 40k

please advise

205/55/R15 is the correct upsize. It will not touch the tyre wells. I have 205/55/R16 on my car. Even they dont touch the tyre wells.

honda dude ,
For 15" rims - 195/60/R15 and 205/55/R15 .
I think these are the right choices.
your selection is correct go ahead.
lenso with yokohama will be just perfect.

perfect upsize for swift go with it, and as for the tyre i will say Yokohama/Michelin would be the best buy avoid maxxis

Regardless if whether you've gotten it with JK's or MRF's, you should get approximately 1,000 - 1,250 per tyre in a trade in for new alloys and tyres when you trade in the stock rims and tyres (assuming you've gotten an 'L' or a 'V', and not a 'Z').

Hondadude,

I'm running 15" rims with 195/60/15 Yokohama 'A' drives, and the upsize is perfect. As a couple of people have mentioned, you could also upsize to 205/55 R15, but that makes the ride a *little* harsher because the latter has a lower sidewall (by abt 5mm).

I'd recommend the 195/60/15, with either Yokos or Michelins.

That's exactly how I feel about 195 vis-a-vis 205. Suggest, try out both the tires and then decide.

can someone tell me if stock swift steel wheels are 5J or 5.5J?

Stock steel rims -5j
ZXi alloys are 5.5jj

thanks for the info. wanted to avoid wheel change for a 195/65/R14

I think Jaggu is having 195/65-14 Goodyear Venturas on Swift D with Zxi alloys.

planning to go in for a dzire vdi and want to upgrade tyres keeping original steel rims. Now presuming dzire has 5J steel wheels, could anyone say if 195/65/14 is a good idea or 185/70/14 . as the latter has been fitted to quite a few dzires in this forum. plan michlin xm1. any suggestions??
Thanks. GD

Hey, I got new wheels for my swift vxi.

Got 15" alloys from AVA, they are the new ones in indian market. They have good designs thought.

And for the tire I got Yokohama 'S' drive 205/55/15. The ride is pretty cool. Can feel the wheels moving more freely than stock ones.

The set looks amazing on the car.

Now I am wondering if i should have gone for 16" alloys. Was scared that 16" alloys with 205 may hit the side walls during turning. So didnt go for that. :-(

there is no problem going with 16" alloys, only draw back compared to 15" the ride will be little harsh.
while upgrading to 16" keep in mind the tyre size 205/50/16 this will not hit the side wall
