My friend is thinking of buying CPC2 195/60/15.
How are the sidewalls of CPC2?

Refer the air pressure sticker on the driver door sill, but then, I thought that the Vdi had the 165 profile tyres, unless you have upgraded. Zxi is indeed 29 psi.

Upgraded the tyres of VDI to 185/70/R14 Michelin. Diesel engine is heavier by 75 kgs than Petrol.... so i guess tyre pressure would be higher. would like to know if anyone knows the right pressure which works well !

Thanks

Please HELP : Stick to 15" OR Upgrade to 16"?

Hi all,

I desperately need your help and suggestions. I have a 2005 Silky Silver Swift Vxi and had upgraded the stock wheels to 15" X 6.5 OZ Racing Canovas having ET 43 with 195/60/R15 Goodyear Eagle F1 tires in 2006. I changed my tires in June 2008 to 205/55/R15 Yokohama S-Drives. I am happy with ride and handling so far with no issues.

Now my rims are around 4+ years old and have developed scuffs and scratches dude to the horrendous Mumbai roads. I was planning to have them refurbished but was not convinced if I would get the original color and finish of the mighty OZs! Now I cam across AVA wheels which have brilliant designs, but the design I liked i.e. the HS-169 comes only in 16" and above. So now I required your help with whetehr I should stick to my OZs or move to the 16" rims? I need your help regarding the following factors :

1. Which according to you is the better design - OZ Canova OR AVA HS-169
2. Is it worth moving to a 16" rim as I drive in Mumbai city most of the time.
3. Which finish of the AVA HS-169 will best suit a Silver Swift?

I have attched pics of the OZs on my car and some designs of AVA wheels. Please help in choosing the best for my car.

With regards to the AVAs, the models numbers are (from left to right) :

Row 1
1. HS-169 - Hyper Silver, 2. HS-169 - Chrome & Black, 3. HS-169 - Bright Chrome
Row 2
4. HS-75 - Hyper Black, 5. HS-118 - Titanium Bronze, 6. HS-133 - Hyper Black.
Row 3
7. HS-151 - Hyper Black, 8. HS-188 - Black Full Polish

I think these 2 will look better on your car:
HS-169 - Chrome & Black
HS-133 - Hyper Black

HS-151 - Hyper Black is also good, but the spokes seems to be protuding out of the wheel (atleast in the picture). It would be more prone to scratches, if that's the case.
Which profile and width are you planning to go for in 16" ? The ride will be on the harsh side.

Hi Sumit,

Thank you for your suggestions. I am planning to use 205/50/R16 tires. Any idea what should be the offset of these rims?

With regards to the ride, I seem to be getting mixed reactions with some on the forum advising against 16" rims and others having no problems with the same.

Can anyone using 16" rims with 205/50/R16 tires on a Swift IN MUMBAI give feedback on the ride quality and if the same is recommended?

Please, for heaven's sake!

Dont ditch the OZs and g o in for some cheapo wheels.

It's like ditching the Fiesta 1.6S and going in for an NHC just because the NHC looks better.

And 205/50 R16 is very low profile. You will end up damaging your rims and tyres if oyu dont take care. Ride quality is going to be miserable.
