Bolero Bling Blings. Nicely done man. Absolutely love the konig. Care to share the price of the mods done.

Front Grill and the lights on the roof are real stunners.

Here is my Jazz with Modulo (optional-factory) wheels. 15" wearing stock rubber. They retailed at almost 60k for a set of 5 but they are totally worth it IMO.

need your help . . . please

dear vid,
i am planning to change the alloys / tyres of my 2005 XLd.
i want to go for a 15" lenso one - i think its 15" 6.5J or 6.5JJ
also i wanted to go for Yokohoma

is the rim size correct & which is the best size tyre for it?
i don't want to compromise much on the road clearance as the roads are pretty bad here in our god's own country.

can you please help?

also if i seat 5 in the car with a bit baggage, will the tyre touch the side walls while on full turn or on a high speed turn?
thanks in advance.

Also with a wider rim and closer to the suspension you are also looking at a potential of the tyre touching the springs (but that's on a extreme wrong upsize).

With the SFXi 14" alloys and 195/60-14 the tyre just brushes the plastic wheel well on the inside. With 195/65-14 it pushes the plastic bit in hard and later on the plastic bit disintegrates.

I guess with your different offset and tyre size it may have just worked and luckily it isn't touching. Some alloys it touches and with some it doesn't. Besides the Lancer's tyre upsize is really confusing with so many options that fit in the car.

I have 15" alloys with 205 50R15 profile tires, the rim width is 6.5j and i have no problem so far, you can easily put a 15" tyre with 55 profile also and will not have any issues, just ensure you go easy on pot holes with 50 profile, they alloys might develop a crack if driven hard.

thanks promod for your advice & feedback - "the best is always from user"

I would like to know from you :
- was there a difference in ground clearance after this change from the standard tyres/rim on your car?
- has it increased / decreased?

My car came with 13" and 70 profile tyres, so 15" with 50 profile translates to the same Over all diameter. To put it simple no change at all. i will post a pic with 2 lancers standing side by side, The grey one is mine and has a 15" with 50 profile, the black one is sarath's with 14" and 60 profile, i hope this would give you an idea, my car looks little taller at the rear and his looks taller in front.

Thanks a bunch mate!

The tyres are stock OEM from the factory. MRF (!) 175/65 R15". My sincere advice to anyone buying a Jazz, upgrade your tyres preferably to Yoko S-Drives. 195 sections would be perfect for this car. Not only would the wider foot-print give better grip, but also dial in some much needed weight into the otherwise ultra-light steering.

You sure 've got the Bull by the horn there Suhaas.

I always feel that any car should have enough rubber to appear classy !! I hate looking at all those swifts and puntos with OEM tyres which just doesn't do justice to the finish. It's more like the loony toon Johny Bravo !!

I thought Honda were providing Alloys and fatter rubber now as a standard on Jazz. Was that a rumour??

Yes, they are, to boost the sales!!!
15" Alloys (same design of ANHC, not the ones on Suhaas) + fatter rubber (Not sure of dimensions) + Reverse parking sensors + Insurance + Extended Warranty + some small other freebies, totaling to some where close to 80k.

The alloys Suhaas has, costs somewhere between 40-44k, right?
I remember asking a city owner, he had the same alloys on ANHC.

True!

However, the set of wheels were 60k for a set of 5. Otherwise it's around 45k for 4. We opted for the additional 5th due to my parents idiosyncrasies. Anyway, we need to upgrade the tyres now. 175 sections are just plain inadequate IMO.

Go for 195/60-R15 in Michelin Primacy LC or CPC2. Yoko S-Drives are good and provide excellent grip, but, they can be a little noisey (Atleast for my taste).
