Re: MRF Z.L.O Performance Tyres

Thank you guys for the feedback, I am decided on these now, but need one more info, I am using 195/60 R15 on my Corolla which is OE size, earlier on my previous Corolla I had upgraded to 205/55 R15 Nexens and they turned out to be lousy, it ended up with a ruptured sidewall within 500 kms of use. So now I am keen on getting the same size but how tough are the side walls of ZLO, any experiences on this? Also there is no difference in price in these 2 sizes.

How can we find the manufacturing date of ZLO? Will it be printed directly or is it printed in a coded form?

It's a 4 digit code. Like 0414 which means 4th week of 2014.

I should have asked one more thing, does ZLO come with rim protector in 55 profile? Guys need feed back.

Re: MRF Z.L.O Performance Tyres

Got myself a set of 4 ZLO tyres for my Ertiga .
Size - 205 60 R 15 .
COst 5500/ tyre

Ride is super silent but too early to come to a conclusion . Absolutely value for money , these tyres .

Upgraded from 185 65 r 15 . So its a huge difference .

Re: MRF Z.L.O Performance Tyres

How are the reviews on these Tyres? I am considering to replace my Michelins, know its a step back, but I may have to sell the car shortly.

Jazz stock is 175/65 R15. I believe 185/65 R15 is available. Will 195/70 be too much?

You could consider an upsize to 195/60R15 - which would be the correct upsize. And yes, ZLO is available in this size.

Does it come in 205/55 R15, and does it come with a rim protector in profiles 55 and below? Even the humble Goodyear NCT 5 comes with that in 55 Profile.

All in all, I find these to be almost as good as my previous neova ad07 set with far better ride quality. Noise is also significantly lower. They are still much noisier than Michelins though.
I want to ask the same questions to you as below, more so since you have such a brilliant car, my Corolla is no match for it on dynamics, I may retain this car for another 2 years so struggling to get some decent driving pleasure from my Corolla, you know what I mean.

Hi Nikhil, I am driving a Corolla and OE size is 195/60 R15. I tried experimenting with 195/55 R15 but was very wrong, ended up pinching the tyre on a trip to Pondy, it was a wrong size, period. The car came with 195/65 R15 but was way too bouncy for my liking. In the OE size I am not very happy, except the ride quality is good. I want good cornering ability at good speeds, excellent breaking in wet and dry, with a strong sidewall, tyre mileage is not important to me. Considering all this can I fit a 205/55 R15 [ZLO] to my Corolla. OR should I stick to 195/60 R15, although I've been told that the right upsize is 205/60 R15, please advice.

Why not? 195/60-15 is a terrific size and the ZLO is a good choice as well.

Thanks for the reply Nikhil. As you know Corolla is not blessed dynamically, soft suspension, body roll, otherwise 195/60-15 is a good size for most of the usage but was keen on knowing if there is significant advantage / disadvantage if I opt for 205/55-15.

No major disadvantage. Ride comfort reduces and ground clearance goes down a bit.

Re: MRF Z.L.O Performance Tyres

No major advantage except that cornering will be a bit better. But not so much that you will feel it on normal public roads.

In that case I will stick to OE size, thank you.

Re: MRF Z.L.O Performance Tyres

I think that's the best thing. But the old Corolla came with 195/60-15 tyres as stock. The Altis came with 195/65-15.

I'm confused as to which model you have.

Old Corolla = 195/60-15 RE88 as stock. You can get ZLO.

Altis = 195/65-15 Bridgestone Turanza ER300 as stock. You can get XM2 or Michelin P3ST in this size.

Altis Gen 2 (the most recently launched one) : 205/55-16 on top variants and 195/65-15 on the base variant.

Now I hope this is helpful in clearing the confusion.
