I was told by a tyre dealer that one individual who upgraded to 175/75/R13 had problems with the tyre hitting the side wall. Not really sure how true it is. R14 does suit as well

Thanks !!

I did a recent upgrade on my i10. Pls check the link below. I maintained R13 itself for the alloys

I have upgraded my rims and tires to r15 pcd 100 offset 38+ rota grid wrapped with goodyear eagle nct5 185/55/r15 and they are great it does not hit the wheel well nor does it compromise comfort.

I did change to 175*70*13 with Neo four spoke rims. I guess you can change to 14" by compromizing on profile of tyre, but don't go above 175, as even 175 I feel, it sprey muddy water on side mirrors. Means it looks somewhat crossing body lines.

Hyundai i10 : Which tyres to replace the stock ones?

After a lot of contemplation between Swift and i10, i have decided to buy a Hyundai i10 1.2 Kappa ( Magna Variant) for my wife. All seems fine with this car except for its thin tyres, so i am thinking whether should i change them to a slightly fatter rubber?

My wife would be mostly using this car and would be 99% used in city and the running would not be more than 600km-800km a month. So does it really make sense to change the stock tyres?

If yes, what brand and size should i opt? Also, what should i expect as exchange for brand new tyres and what would be the price of the fatter tyres?

I dont want the FE to be compromised in anyway. Interested in better handling and tyres complimenting the car body shape in better way as i think the stock tyres look quite teeny weeny.

Tyre Gurus, need your help here !!

For upsize, hope you have checked these threads.

On the other hand, for city driving & low usage, do you need really need to upsize tyres? If you feel convinced not to upsize, then just ensure that hyundai dealer delivers the car with Bridgestone tyres and not MRF or any other brand.

@Sukiwa, thanks for that point. It never struck me that they may deliver a car with MRF shod on them.

Hyundai has two vendors for stock tyres of i10 a) Bridgestone b) MRF. Depending upon which lot of car your vehicle shall belong to - you would get either of these although you should push your dealer for getting you Bridgestone.

I am also having bridgestones on my i10 and they are real good. You can have a look at my thread http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-d...1-magna-2.html where there has been a discussion on tyre aspect as well

Regarding the tyre upsize --> you will see a lot of upgrades on team-bhp for 175mm ones with contradicting information as to whether this upsize causes sidewall touching or not. In case you go for 175mm - make sure you see this problem beforehand if at all.

Also note that if you pick up magazines like autocar india - they have recommended an upsize of 165mm for i10 but not 175mm. Further note that Michelins are available in 175 but not for 165

Are you planning to go for alloys as well? The reason i am asking this is because 175mm tyres might not fit on stock i10 rims.

175/70/R13. Get the Michelin XM1+.
Your factory tyres off the i10 should get you around 2k,now that the prices have gone up.

My uncle is picking up an i10 today and wants to put in alloy wheels. How much would the basic alloy wheels cost?
