I'd say the XM2 is a safe bet. I chose the Earth 1 because a few friends had it on their cars and have had a good experience with it. I did consider the XM2 as well, along with the Continental MC5.

Hello Adimicra,

I took delivery of my Jazz couple of days back & got it with Good Year Assurance 175/65. Heard these are better than GT3. Can I stick with these for a while or should I opt for an upgrade. I drove around 100 kms since delivery. Will i get a better price for trading.

Re: Honda Jazz : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

Hi Friends,

I own an 2015 Honda Jazz SV IDTEC Urban Titanium and looking to upgrade from my stock steel rims to alloy wheels. I have decided to buy Neo wheels but couldn't finalise a design yet(owing to multiple options) and hence thought of sharing the ones I liked to know your views.

I am not upgrading my tyres for now and currently on my stock MRF ZVTVs.

Kindly let me know your views by having a look at the pictures of alloy wheel designs posted below.

Personally I liked black alloys and have sorted them(alloys) in the below referred order of preference

1.Athlete
2.Sync
3.Alpha
4.Turbo
5.Inferno

Would like to know your taste/preference here. Also please feel free to suggest any other Brand/Design if you believe that it would suit the 2015 Jazz Urban Titanium.

The inferno looks really nice, with a bit of white lettering, I'd have definitely spent on those set of rims! All the best

Re: Honda Jazz : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

Hello Folks

My Jazz's tyres are due for a change, they've run 42K.
The originals are Michelin 175/65 R15.

Now, I want to go for 195/65 R15, and thinking about Yokohama V550 AVS DB.

Anyone used these, and what's the feedback?

cheers

Re: Honda Jazz : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

175/65R15 Goodyear replaced with 195/60R15 Michelin Primacy 3ST along with Alloy Wheels from City.
NVH improved drastically and performance marginally. Yet to check the impact on FE. Costed 20k including alignment and balancing.

Any specific reason to go for 65 aspect ratio rather than 60? 195/60R15 should be the perfect upgrade matching the circumference / overall diameter.

I live in Bangalore where there are a lot of insanely sized speed breakers , so that is one mistake I don't want to make.
Actually, this raised the GC be couple of mm which is helping. The tires are going strong. I have completed 10k on them now. No complaint as of now.

Re: Honda Jazz : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

Got my new Jazz Diesel delivered last week with Goodyear Assurance Triplemax on it. Exchanged with Primacy 3ST 195/60 R15 at Darshan Tyres, Baner, Pune for 13k. I do not see much improvement in cornering / roadholding, honestly did not find the upgrade worth :(

The dealer was quite pushy on Primacy 3ST, repeating often that it was the best tyre. The funny part was he offered XM2 for the same price as 3ST, not a rupee less! Although I did not want to go for softer tyres, since he gave the best quote on 3ST + exchange, I went for it.

Darshan, Baner - 5750 for 3ST, less 2.5k per tyre
Overall good attitude. However, despite telling the workers to ensure the correct air pressure (32 front / 30 back), they did not. I found out after I drove back home and found the ride too hard. Checked using gauge at home - one of the tyres had 45! Others too were not correct. So went back and similar story again - 35 in two of the tyres.

Sai, Baner - Offered 5650 for 3ST, 5500 for XM2, less 2k per tyre
Good attitude but owner was difficult to trace over multiple visits.

Shree Tyres, Baner - Offered 5500 for 3ST, but zero for exchange
Did not like the attitude.

Hello Folks

An update.
I went with Continentals MC5 195/60 R15.
Super impressed with them - extremely silent (was using Michelins XM1 earlier) and grippy.

Just did a 800km Bangalore-Coonoor-Bangalore trip, through nice highways, village roads, broken roads, rains etc.
These tyres are awesome.

cheers

Hi Tushar,

Just got the CVT-V delivered last week. The stock ZVTV Mrf are puny. I am looking at options for tyres which can give better ride comfort and gripping. going through the posts across Tbhp, I have decided for the upgrade to be 195/60 R15.

Can you suggest the best options as I am not well educated with Tyres on the market. ?
How has been your experience with the upgraded tyres ?
How much did you get for your old tyres ?

Thanks

Re: Honda Jazz : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

Hello.

Would anybody be interested in purchasing 4 brand new Jazz OE alloy wheels and 185 tyres? A guy I know will be taking delivery of his Jazz V this Wednesday and has planned a tyre and rim upgrade on the same day to Yokohama S drive 195/60/15 with HRS rims.

The guy is in Bangalore. If you are interested, please PM me and I'll put you in touch with the guy. Disclaimer: I have no financial interest in this whatsoever. I can only put you in touch with the seller. It's up to you to negotiate a price.

Thanks.

I have found options in Continental CC5 and Yokohama Earth 1 with the specs 195/60 R15 for my 175/65 MRFs.

Can you help me understand why they are the perfect upgrades ?

I am sure that there should be good improvement in the Road Grip and Comfort, how much does this affect the mileage. what else should i watch out for ?

Mine is a V-CVT

I hope this should clarify why 195/60R15 is perfect upgrade (than 195/65R15)
Honda Jazz : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread-compare.jpg

- 195/60R15 maintains (close enough) the overall diameter of your stock tires.
- 195/65R15 is bigger in diameter / circumference, this will help in increasing the ground clearance, but negative impact includes decreased acceleration, poor braking, high input loads, etc.

Other than the improved clearance, wont this bring a much better ride comfort.

How will this affect braking ? Isn't better road grip and braking connected ?
