It's been a month & 2000 KM on the tyres. They have been absolutely brilliant, a world apart compared to the stock JK Elanzos that my S cross came with. Grip levels are really good, the steering feels nice, absolutely ZERO road noise and supple ride. I'm loving it!

Good to know ! The size is same as Ecosport Titanium 16' wheels. I was quoted 7.6k last year at Pune. Maybe prices have increased by now. I am looking forward to replace my stock tyres soon.

Looks like Michelin PS4 stock in Bengaluru market is very low. My friend is trying to get 5 tyres in 16" and its been 10 days but no luck. Hes trying to exchange the one he has on his new car to new Michelins though.

One of my friends got the Primacy 4ST for his Honda City 195/60 R15 . Costed 6500 per tyre.

Got it from Wheels North. Anirudh who is the owner is very helpful and provides best deals and after sales service.

Highly recommended

Experience after install

a) Super Smooth ride
b) Zilch Tyre Noise
c) Suspension works better

Only con is high price compared to competition

Has he checked Tire Shops in JC Road? I would recommend checking Madhus, Balaji Tires and Millivisions as options that he could check. 195/60R15 is the easily available option. Maybe the 16 inch demand is less and the dealers may not have ready stock.

Michelin formally launches the Primacy 4 ST ('P4ST') in India:

Michelin actually is facing a big issue in stocks in certain sizes.

They went without having 205/55-16 P4ST for almost a month and a half after launch.

I dont want to blame Michelin itself as I dont have a clear understanding of what went wrong with their logistics but it seems to be a huge issue and dealers across India and furious with Michelin. Michelin's top brass is aware of this issue but their hands are tied and they are doing their best.

We have had to convert customers from Michelin to other brands as Michelin couldnt support us with availability. Some car owners who can wait are waiting but those who cant are moving to other brands like Continental, Yokohama, etc.

205/55-16, 205/50-16 have been among the worst affected sizes.

And if the big tyre dealers cant get it, there is no chance of getting it on JC Road.

Factory fitted tyres spun during hard acceleration after clocking around 43k km on my Jetta. Changed to Primacy 4 ST before driving to a nearby city - around 600 km round trip. Initial impression - excellent road grip (both dry and wet) and road noise reduced a little. Steering feedback was vague as soon as I started driving with the new tyres, but it started feeling normal after driving about 5-10 km.

Heard from a couple of dealers that Primacy 3 ST is being phased out. I could find it on Michelin website and the help desk also said it is available. Went with 4 ST since I got a 2019 16th week tyre.

Finally replaced my Ecosport's tyre with 4ST !

Has the Michelin situation improved now?

Further, any update on launching that elusive 225/50/R16 in either P4ST or PS4 yet? :Frustrati

Which tire shop did you get them from?

I am in the middle of a tire purchase and needed some clarifications and thought you would be the best person to answer:

Q1. When a Tire Dealer places order for a Michelin Tire (in Bangalore) and once he is allocated the tires - is the Manufacturing Date made available to them? And does the Tire Dealer have any control in terms of asking for the most recent week of manufacture?

Q2. I heard many dealers referring to one Mr.Ram as one of the key guys from Michelin Side whom they interact with in Bangalore. What is Mr. Ram's role and responsibility? (if you have heard of Ram)...

I recently upgraded to the Michelin Primacy 4ST and extremely happy with switch to Primacy 4ST. I have run my Honda City on Michelin XM2s for the last 5 1/2 years and over 54,000 kms. Given that the tires had crossed the 5.5 year mark I felt it was a safe move to change the tires and this time decided to go in for the Primacy 4ST (195/60R15 Size)

After enquiring the pricing and manufacturing dates at Millivisions, Tyre Professionals and Sree Balaji Tyres, I made the purchase at Sree Balaji Tyres, JC Road, Bengaluru.

Changed 4 tires and retained one of the tires for the Spare Tire. Service was excellent. They promised me recent tires. Upon arrival they showed me two of the tires which were 19th Week and 20th Week (translates into May 2019). The other two were slightly older. Upon demanding more recent stock, they put me on phone with Mr. Ram from Michelin and finally managed to get me the other two tires also based on the May 2019 Batch itself.

Final Configuration of all 4 tyres - 195/60R15.

Tyre 1: 19th Week [May 2019]
Tyre 2: 19th Week [May 2019]
Tyre 3: 19th Week [May 2019]
Tyre 4: 20th Week [May 2019]

Overall an excellent pricing and service provided Sree Balaji Tyres. I would highly recommend this place.

Fitment in Progress

I have driven about 25 kms post fitment of these new tires and extremely happy with the decision. The smoothness of ride quality and the noise levels are a notch above compared to my earlier XM2s. Would recommend these for sure :thumbs up

How is the steering feel, grip and high speed ability of P4ST when compared to MC5. Some bhpians have reported that 195/60R15s make the ride bumpy. My polo runs on 205/55R15 MC5. After crossing the 25k mark, they've become noisy and the ride is also a bit harsh for my liking. I'm seriously thinking about a replacement with P4ST. Please share your experience.

As I don't drive the GT on highways anymore, I can't comment on high speed ability. The car is primarily used by my wife (and sometimes me) inside city.
Inside city, the ride is very comfortable and almost zero road noise.

The steering feel used to be a little hard with the 205 MC5s. I liked this for the highway drive-ability. But when my wife started using the car, it was quite difficult for her. With the 195 P4STs, that problem is solved as well.

So, inside the city, I love the way this tire behaves.
