Re: Honda Civic : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

2008 Civic stock size 195/65/R15, Conti MC5 is available at Rs. 5,415 each on Amazon, which I thought was a very good deal. Should I buy from Amazon? I have never bought tyres online till date.

Only thing I am concerned about is the manufacturing date, if it comes within 6 months date it is still fine, any more older is a concern.

I have been buying tires online on Amazon only for long. I bought all my tries from Lal Tyres on Amazon; a very trusted seller on my bikers' forum. We got Pirellis; Michellins; Metezellers etc from Amazon and never had issues so far.

Since it is amazon fulfilled and you are from Blor; I do no think you would have much problems either.

As far as 6 months thing; my Rosso II for my CBR was a year old. But still served well till it went bald.

The link you posted says Autodrome is the seller and it is Amazon fulfilled. This adds more assurance.

Here (Review: Buying Tyres on Amazon.in) is a quick read of vsrivatasa's experience on buying tires from amazon.

If traveling is not a concern you can try Madhus or Cherry's or Sai Iyengar's directly.

Re: Honda Civic : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

Went ahead and bought the Primacy 3 ST for 6500 each with a free digital tyre inflator from Michelin from Tyre Empire.

The significant reduction in noise was surprising. Happy with the purchase.

Re: Honda Civic : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

All, time has come to replace the tyres on my civic.

Need your inputs in regard to which tyre to go for and whether to retain the OE specs or upgrade to 205 65 while retaining R15.

I am looking out for tyres which provide good grip and handling while maintaining comfort and help in reducing the road noise.

Have read a lot about the MRF Perfinza. Is it worth the shot?

Best,
Enigmatic

Time for me to replace my tyres. I currently have the Yokohama db v550 Decibel in 205/65R15. I'm sure I want the Michelin Primacy 4ST this time but alas, they're not available in this size. Now here's the dilemma.. The 4ST are only available in 195/65R15 and the 205s are only available in the Energy series. Do I compromise on the size or the quality ?? What would you'll do ?

I would change to the 4ST, stock size for this tyre would be better than the 205's in the Energy series.

Cheers

Hey. Thanks for the advice and the quick reply. Any other brands you think are worth looking at. I'm interested in a soft and quiet ride.

Ok so I've now found that the Continental MC5 are available in 205/65R15. So now the question is MC5 in 205/65R15 or Primacy 4ST in 195/65R15 ?

Re: Honda Civic : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

Please guide:

Recently purchased new set of shoes,JK UX Royale, 195/65/R15 for civic '08.
The manufacturing dates shows something like 24/19.
JK gives 2+3 years warranty on the tires.

On Amazon they are shipping 2020 made tyres. Should I ask him to give me the new ones or the above date should suffice?

Re: Honda Civic : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

330 KM Reivew for JK UX Royale 195/65/R15 (end 2019 make)

Experience till now:

PROS
- Comfortable (coming from aging Yokohama Earth1's)
- Possibly faster?

CONS
- Highway Noise
Being in the almost noiseless cabin of Civic, I did not expect a luxury car tyre to make such noise in 60km+. Maybe it was in run-in period.

Will update further, as I want to see how these fares compare to the usual suspects (Michelin/Pirelli/Yokos)

Dear Ashutosh, any further updates on these JK tyres that are being fitted on many new cars these days?

Do you feel that an upgrade is necessary? I am not worried about road noise as my drive almost always involves music.

I wanted to post review for JK ROYALE, but have been travelling since the time I got them installed.

Very comfortable tyres but very noisy. Makes me lot hesitant to go above 70. I would buy this again only if they dampen the road noise, specially on cemented roads.

Re: Honda Civic : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

2 tyres were damaged for Honda Civic 2011. Earlier tyres were Good year Assurance Triple Max.
Got the same 2 Good year Assurance Triple Max (195 65 R15), in Thane, 4500 INR for each tyre.
