Tyres for Laura Ambiente ?

Hey guys ,got myself a Corrida red Laura Ambiente last friday(the first red laura delivered in India) .

The tyres are dunlop sport with 15 alloys 205/60 R15 . I havent yet driven the car extensively but i found the tyre noise creeping in ..

Please help me guys and let me knw whether i should get the tyres changed ? will it help in reducing the road noise , what brand i should go for ?

P.S. I am yet to decide on upgrading the Alloys to 16 ,i 'll make a last minute decision on whether to stick to 16 after taking a drive .

Thanks .

@KP - this is the ambiente version that comes with 15" wheels.
@Beemer - I don't think you would want to change the alloys and upgrade.
Try Michelin Energy XM1s in the same size. They are amazing tyres.

I think switching to 205/55 R16 or 225/50 R16 will be a good deal.

I would love to go for 16(the elegance and L&K come in 16) the 15 alloys look really small on Laura but i 've to see the ride quality . I 've spoken to a tyre dealer and he has allowed me to take a drive on the new tyres for a KM and thats when i 'll decide whether to go for 16 .

Thanks for the suggestion ,i 'll check out the energy XM1 .

Any reviews on Dunlop sport , good or bad ?

There will certainly some drop in ride comfort as compared to stock 15".
But handling, cornering, high speed stability, braking, confidence in driving will improve with a switch to 16".

Dealers in Delhi offering a test ride....great..which dealer in delhi?

Go for the Michelin PP2's. I replaced the dreaded Goodyears in my C220 with the Michelins.....smiles all the way!

Make sure u also go in for tyre upgrades too. My choice is 215/55 R16 DUNLOP SPORT 9000got the tyres for rs 6500 per tyre. Petes tuning box cost 31000 approx . Forgot to mention earlier have a pair of of petes air checkers for my tyres . Tyre pressure for tyre up grade is mentioned on the inside of octavia's fuel cap. Please follow these tyre pressure for ur tyres. Best way to do this is to fill up the tyres with nitrogen. Tyre pressure decreases by 1 psi to 2 psi only in around 80 to 90 days so less time spent at the petrol bunk. Petes air checkers available for various tyres and of various psi( 28 , 30 , 32, 34). A pair will cost u around rs 350 or so. Been using petes air checkres for 2 an half yrs. MY tyre up grades r good but only one problem they wear out faster because they are made of softer rubber compound for better cornering and better grip during rainy season. Expect a mileage of max of 45000 km from these tyres. Inspite of tyre upgrades i get a mileage of 16.5 to 18 km in city with ac.Ofcourse i do not drive my vehicle without my ac on.
