Sir,

The Windscreens appear to be the Brooklands type screens that came on the MG TC's. The original one might have broken. The Windscreen is quite curved in this car so instead of trying to make one they just changed it. Importing one is an option but chances of damage are really high.

Please see the pic again a little more carefully, the hood seems to be there and folded up and kept at the back.

The rims are the same but the Wheel covers apper to be different. The ones that were there are more like accessories that came on Beetles and other American cars. The one that is fitted now might be an original set, looks more like dodge ones though. In fact the car has got new White wall tires which is a major craze in Delhi.

The Bumpers appear the same and so do the over riders. The new addition to the bumpers are the rubber buffers on the over riders.

The Mirrors, Script above the grill are original for the car. The Badge seems to be original but placed in the wrong place. It should be placed lower though.

The yellow car is a 60s Simca 1301, a French car. It's been discussed in another thread earlier:

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/post-w...ml#post2107992

The other cars all belong to the same person, who owns the simca.

Another car where the restoration plot has been lost. Just too many modifications which do not suit the car. The grills in the front . The luggage box would normally come in Delux cars where the stepney is on the front mud guard. The luggage box and rack contraption complete distorts the rear.

When such a car comes of judging you will see that owners are disappointed that the car has not won. Especially if the winner is a original Ford A without the bells and whistles. Their normal justification would be that the car has been restored with so much passion. Passion can be easily misplaced.

However each owner is the BOSS of his car. He may rod/modify etc as he likes, that is his prerogative

Cheers

Sorry ....its actually a 31 Model A as it has the smaller wheels and the 30/ 31 bonnet lines.

Car is a bit over the top but on the plus side it does have a lot of original bits and the whitewalls are awsome.

Now if they were to change the grille treatment to stock and remove the trunk, the car would look great.

The paint scheme is indeed striking and well executed.

Re: Pics: Vintage & Classic cars in India

So, by looking at the dash....I thought 1928-1929 had come with Oval speedo meter, later was with round speedo meter.

Well, it was originally gone from RJ!

Anyway, as per the current pics, its very much Hyderabadi (the extra 'bling' further confirms it! ) now.
