The Contessa rubbers certainly look similar. I've bought 4 of them. I'll visit the gentleman sometime this week and see if they work.

The cheapest tail lamp I managed to find was for 10k-ish INR! Pointers to cheaper ( much, much cheaper ) listings would be much appreciated!

The car is a single owner, much loved beauty. The engine is running flawlessly. It recently got a new battery.
The gentleman wants to get the mechanicals sorted, apply for an FC and use the car for regular short drives.

I have almost zero knowledge about merc's and would be grateful for information about 1968 model 200, regarding availability of parts, cost of parts, reliability and ease of driving, can these be used as a daily driver ?

Also in today market what should be the fair price for an almost complete car, needing paint and chrome work ?

IMHO, Rs 1,50,000 should be a fair price for a w115 petrol 200 .

Ratan Tata's car was available for about Rs 3,00,000 at Agra a few months ago. Another black w115 from New Delhi available last April stood out in elegance, and costed about Rs 4,00,000. Both these cars were in excellent condition. They may have had OEM diesel engines & hand gears, I don't remember clearly right now.

Its a good idea to locate & possess an extra parts car. With luck, a parts car without papers may be parked & available somewhere.

Yes! T(touring)D(diesel). many people believe that means its a turbo diesel but turbo-diesels have a separate badge.
the rear looks low(I believe it should rise after starting, not sure as mine was gutted), would be a decent price if everything is perfect and the expensive SLS works.

Saw this beauty on my visit to Bangalore. This was parked in the sun and man she looks to kill. The lines and shape of blue made me drool and I was lost in time and stood watching her. This is a very fine example of a w123 that I have seen by far. Would love to get a ride and travel in comfort and luxury. I am out of words, if any one has more info on her please share.
