Here is another dear friend of mine. My 1964 Mercedes 190 W110.

This is a 3 year old post. I hope this W108 is rescued and is on the road now. Its anyway hard to find W108s. This particular car is a column shift model, which is more desirable, at least as far as I am concerned.

Yes its Pune registered. Import from USA and re registered in Pune in 1970.

So was there another "Indian" (Alwar) Mercedes SS, that too with a Saoutchik body ?

The "Cannes" body on the SS would have looked very similar to the picture below. We saw one take top honours at Pebble Beach, 2012.

Hey Amit, are you saying we drive ugly cars over here ? Just kidding of course!!!!

You are absolutely right - I cannot believe what U.S. emissions and crash laws did to once lively (and gorgeous) cars like the MGB, E-Type, Alfa Romeo, Mercedes.......the list is endless.

Lucky many of these cars had "good bones" in their DNA to still keep them reasonably attractive.
