That is wonderful. Can you share a scan of that reciept? What was the original old system registration number?

That's great, am looking forward to it.

Can you share some history of the Bentley? Was it ex-royalty? What was the earlier registration number?

Hi Karl,

Here is some history on the mark 6. The car belonged to Maharaja Bhaya Cooch Behar, who happens to be maharani gayetri devi's brother. From there the car was gifted to Mr Suresh kumar ( a renowned businessman of calcutta and a motor sports enthusiast and collector as well as organiser) During this time the number of the car was WBC--8352.

Finally now the car is with Mr. Dharmaditya patnaik of bhubaneshwar. All this information about the past history was very kindly told to me by Mr. Rishi kumar, son of Mr. Suresh kumar(the previous owner to mr patnaik). I could never gather this information all on my own

cheers
rajiv

Hi, everyone,
This is what i was talking about yesterday, when i mentioned that we had restored two lancias with the same rims. This is the picture of the other di lambda which we restored. Its a 1926, it was in shambles when we got it. Car belonged to Mr pralladh agarwal of salanpur, wchich is located between assansol and dhanbad. Mr. wasif who is on team bhp, requested if i could put up the pictures with the same rims.
Any way the rims seems to be taking away the merits of good cars these days!!any way, these are the pics of the car, it was the sporty looking one with a fabulous rumbling exhaust. The front on view speciality was the split windshield. These are some of the pictures of the work that went into the car.
regards..

That is a very pretty looking body. Am I the only one who by now finds those rims quite easy on the eyes by now?

Thank you chief, i will post the engine side pictures, yes the car is in very good condition from mechanical point of view. The plus being that since this was a first owner car for us the mechanicals are untampered, that always help.

Lancia 1928 Coachwork

Rajiv:
Attached below is an Alfa Romeo with body work by James Young. The mouldings around the door line look very similar to the car you restored. The same source book (Alfa Romeo Milano by Frostick) also shows a very similar car by Castagna.

Were either one the original coachbuilders for the car you restored ? Cheers!

Do also post some rear views of the Lancia and the Cooch Behar Bentley MK VI if you could please!

You are not alone Karlos I think the Cartier car's cream wheel colour made it a bit too striking.

Rajiv this Lancia is gorgeous. Thanks for sharing and a great job resurrecting the beauty

Hi Friends,
You all must have seen the pictures of our personal 1949 cadillac v-8 on team bhp. I thought i must post the pictures of the car when we got it home for the first time. We have this car with us since 1997. A complete wreck as the pictures to follow will show you.
The first big fear with this car was that when we got it we were really scared because it is automatic transmission, it was lying neglected as a wreck for so long that we were really scared about the condition of the transmission.
The big piece of history about this car is that this was a victim of the riots in calcutta in which all cars at site were burnt, one could possibly see the bunt marks on the car. What the mob did was they opened the petrol tank lid of the cars and set fire to all the cars randomly. Luckily in the case of this car they couldnot find the opening to the tank because the petrol tank opening [that is where you fill the fuel from] is inside the left back light lid. The back light is in a lid form, it opens up and you fill fuel from there.
Thank god for that bit of designing of the car, it gave me the opportunity to own such a lovely car.

regards
rajiv
