However, as 4x4addict said, Bolero 4wd is not in production, and your best bet is to get the Scorpio LX 4wd (of course it is available! - LOL, they even told 1100D that the Scorp VLX 4wd was not available!) or Thar CRDe. The Bolero 4wd was never produced in BS-IV specs, and even if you did get one from old inventory, it would be difficult to register in Kolkata.

I suggest writing to the top honcho's of M&M about the dealer's antics and let him run around you a bit.

Cheers

Thanks all for your inputs. I am thinking of changing the booking to THAR CRDe. Scorpio LX 4x4 is way out of budget.

re: The "I Booked my Car" Thread

Finally Heart rules over Head. Booked a Fiat Linea 2012 1.4 Petrol Dynamic in Tuscan Wine today afternoon.

This comes after news that my long awaited Honda Jazz X MT Rallye Red (Booked on 01Sep2011) is now expected only by April/May. I still am No. 33 for the Jazz at Pearl Honda as on date!

Linea offered WAY more bang for the buck, and thus Honda's loss is Fiat's gain.

Anyway, here are the details:
  • Make : Fiat Linea2012 Dynamic Petrol
  • Booking Date : 22-Jan-2012
  • Color : Tuscan Wine
  • Expected Delivery Date : Feb 2nd week
  • Dealer & City : ABS Motors, Gurgaon
  • Freebies : Floor Mats, Mud Flaps, 50 months RSA (Total worth 4500)
  • Total Warranty with Extended Warranty : 4 yrs / 80K kms
Pricing:
  • Ex-Showroom => 7.82 Lacs approx.
  • Insurance (from showroom itself, discounted) => Rs. 14.46 k
  • Extra charge for Premium shade => Rs. 6k
  • Logistics & Handling Rs. 3k
  • Regn, Num Plate => Rs. 35k
  • Extended Warranty => Rs. 5.35k
  • Less: Loyalty Disc on showing existing Tata Indica RC => Rs. 10k
  • Less: Corporate Discount => Rs. 7k
  • OTR Price --> 8.29 Lacs
  • Accessories Planned : Reverse Parking Sensors with RVM display (Rs. 4.6k) taking total cost to 8.34 lacs
Pl suggest if I should try to bargain for more! Its a Petrol after all!

Your dealer was either 1) mis informed (most likely) or 2) eager to roll your booking amount for a couple of months.

I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the only way you will get a Bolero 4WD is if there is unsold stock lying in any stockyard. You will not get new vehicle any time soon. I suggest you take your booking amount back and consider the Scorpio LX 4WD or Thar CRDe. There is a nice hard top being developed in Hyderbad/Bangalore to make it lockable. AC version of the Thar CRDe will be out shortly...

I had threatened to cancel the booking and soon the dealership gave me the number of a person named Deepak Sinha who is in the procurement department for Mahindra eastern region. He has said that Bolero LX 4x4 is available and he is trying to get the car dispatched from the plant by this month end. He has asked me to give him a call on 28th to know about the latest proceedings.

@blackperl. This is great news. Subsequent to your post, I was informed by someone who has inside info that they do make the LX 4WD periodically based on govt orders. It available for general sale only in a few markets.

Took delivery of my Ritz VXi as per plan and schedule. Excuse me for the delay in posting.

Deal to Delivery Experience: Overall a good experience, ran into some problems due to the absence of the Sales Delivery Person a day before delivery, but his Managers handled the situation quite well to ensure a smooth Delivery.

re: The "I Booked my Car" Thread

Hi,
Is it possible to transfer the booking to someone else for Maruti & Toyota Etios/Liva before delivery? Once I was told by Maruti salesman that it is not possible but one of my friends said it is very much possible. Also, in case there is a hike in car prices or taxes/excise after booking, do you have to pay the new price/higher tax?

It seems one can cancel the booking without any charges anyway.

Thanks!

Not sure about the transfer of the booking, I think it depends on the equation you have with the dealer really. For them it hardly matters if the car sold is to your friend, and not you.

As for price hike, prices are always as prevailing at time of delivery, so that means any hike will have to be borne by you.

Pls go for after market mags with 205 wide tyres without mud flaps, looks sporty from behind. New stock mags are not so good looking.

The person from Mahindra with whom I have been following up had said that the car was dispatched last week, but today he said that there was some miscommunication and the vehicle should be dispatched in a day or two. I am not sure how much to believe. I have already applied for a loan and the car has to be delivered within 20 days after the loan is sanctioned as per the rules of the bank. Othrwise the loan will be cancelled
