2022 Audi A6 facelift spied testing ahead of unveil

The new Audi A6 facelift will rival the likes of the BMW 5 Series and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

Audi is said to be working on introducing a facelift of its A6 sedan. The 2022 Audi A6 facelift is expected to get minor mid-cycle updates, both in terms of updated design and added features.

The spy images of the upcoming A6 facelift showcase the front and rear end of the sedan under camouflage. The A6 sedan could feature an updated set of LED headlamps along with a slightly revised front bumper and front grille. The side and rear profiles look identical to the current model, although the LED taillight cluster is expected to receive an update. Similar to the front, the rear bumper could also receive a subtle tweak in its styling.

On the inside, the A6 sedan is said to come with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the brand's latest connected technology. There will also be a number of new equipment including ADAS and other comfort and convenience features.

The 2022 Audi A6 facelift will be powered by the same engine and transmission options as the current model. This includes 4 petrol engines: 2.0-litre, 2.9-litre, 3.0-litre and 4.0-litre TFSI units. There are also 2 diesel options on offer in the form of 2.0-litre and 3.0-litre TDi engines. The engines will be mated either to a 7-speed S-Tronic or an 8-speed Tiptronic transmission. Power is sent to all four wheels via the brand's quattro system.

Audi will introduce the updated A6 in both sedan and Avant body styles, with the official unveil expected sometime in 2022.
