4th-gen Jeep Wrangler to be launched on August 9, 2019

The fourth-generation Jeep Wrangler is scheduled to be launched in India on August 9, 2019.

We still don't know which variants of the Wrangler will be offered in India. However, test mules of the Overland, Sahara and the Rubicon variants have been spotted testing, suggesting that these might be offered in India. The Rubicon could be re-badged as the Moab. The Moab gets cosmetic updates including black alloy wheels and Moab decals.

In the US, the new Wrangler comes with four engine options. These include a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder petrol producing 270 BHP and 400 Nm of torque, a 3.6-litre, V6 petrol with 285 BHP and 353 Nm of torque, a 2,2-litre, 4-cylinder diesel making 197 BHP and 450 Nm of torque and a 3.0-litre, V6 diesel developing 240 BHP and 570 Nm of torque. The Wrangler comes with either a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic transmission. All variants come with all-wheel drive while the Rubicon variant gets heavy-duty axles and locking differentials.

Jeep is yet to reveal the engines that will be offered on the Wrangler in India.
