7 observations to summarise my Skoda Octavia ownership after 10,000 km

The fuel efficiency is highly sensitive to the traffic. I have seen it hovering from 6 km/l to 21 km/l on a few of my commutes.

BHPian neoonwheels recently shared this with other enthusiasts.

Finally, in 8 months, I have crossed the first of many milestones - 10,000 clicks. The journey so far has been nothing short of a dream. I am very happy with the way the car has been pampering me as a driver and my family as passengers. This might be my fastest 10K km on any of my cars so far. I have shared my experience multiple times on this thread so I do not have anything more to say.

Just to summarize my total experience so far:

  1. It's a perfect family sedan - The ride is awesome and the handling is decent. If I decide to make it stiff, it would hamper the ride so I won't be touching this aspect anytime soon
  2. The steering is very light at parking speeds. It lacks feedback but its very accurate, so you have to get used to it
  3. For 4 adults and 1 kid, this has enough space. The boot is huge and on my GJ-RJ trip, I witnessed the crazy amount of luggage it can accommodate
  4. Even though its wide and a bit longer, it just wraps it around you and very easy to manoeuvre it in traffic
  5. The fuel efficiency is highly sensitive to the traffic. I have seen it hovering from 6 km/l to 21 km/l on a few of my commutes. It simply hates the congested roads
  6. The 2L TSI and DQ381 is a perfect pair. It's not only quick shifting but at the same time it's not as confusing as DQ200 on my Polo in lower gears
  7. Few features that I miss on my Octavia and the Style variant in general - Virtual cockpit, AFS projector LED headlights, E20 compatibility (New headache), Rear USB sockets

I would give a 9/10 to Octavia even though I felt it was almost 3-4L overpriced for what it offered but looking at the current car prices, I feel, I got a good deal. I would highly recommend it while stock lasts.

FE since first fill up. Now that's a decent number
