Carberry's vibration reducing plate for RE's UCE motors

Thanks to BHPian naturaldisaster for sharing this with other enthusiasts.

Carberry Motorcycles, one of the known customisation companies working on Royal Enfield bikes, has introduced a vibration reduction plate for Unit Construction Engines (UCE) based 350 cc and 500 cc engines.

Currently, in both the 350 cc and 500 cc engines, there are two bearings on the left side of the crankshaft but only one right hand side. A plate that covers the cam wheel, on the right side, is fitted below the clutch housing. It is speculated that this arrangement causes slight flexing of the crankshaft and additional vibrations at higher rpms.

According to Carberry, the plate that they have on offer is primarily designed to support and stabilise the right-end (clutch side) of the crankshaft. This plate is fitted after the gear that drives the cams. An additional bearing is installed on the end of the crankshaft, which rests on the plate giving it support. Other claimed benefits include reduction in overall vibrations at speeds between 60 km/h and 90 km/h. The company also states an improvement in the life of the bearings and reduced wear of the cam wheel.
