DIY: Installed door courtesy lamps on my Maruti XL6

Tt’s a nice welcome feature. These work only for the front doors.

Adding Door Courtesy Lamps

Implemented this into my car as it helps with night time visibility when you’re leaving the car, plus it’s a nice welcome feature. These work only for the front doors.

Fusebox of my car - There’s an empty fuse slot which runs live even when the ignition is off, so I chose to tap power from this.

Since I don’t have a 5A fuse with me, I'm using the 10A fuse that comes with this fuse tap kit, will replace this in the future with a lower rating. The total power drawn is usually 10W with halogen bulbs but since I swapped the bulbs with LED ones, it comes out to be around 2W. Ideally should be using a 1A or a 0.5A fuse for this setup but in the future I may add more lighting through this line.

Wire that connects to the door switch -I didn't want to directly splice/tap from the OEM factory wire, so I reached out to an MSIL friend who arranged a harness that bypasses the connection through connectors. The door switch is the negative line for this setup so that both the door lights function independently.

The harness - This is used in the ambient lighting kit which is sold as an accessory for the Alto K10.

I'm using spade connectors to connect the various wires
