Citroen Basalt coupe SUV to be unveiled on March 27

The Citroen Basalt will based on the same CMP platform as the C3 and C3 Aircross.

Citroen will unveil its new coupe SUV called the 'Basalt' on March 27, 2024. Also known as the C3X, the new model is expected to compete with the upcoming Tata Curvv SUV in the Indian market.

The Citroen Basalt will based on the same CMP platform as the C3 and C3 Aircross. The teaser shared by the company shows its sloping roofline and a wraparound tail lamp cluster. The SUV also has a shark fin antenna and is likely to get a lift-back style tailgate.

The Basalt is likely to feature a dual-tone cabin similar to the C3 Aircross. It will get a large touchscreen infotainment system and a chunky 3-spoke steering wheel, as well as features such as automatic climate control, cruise control and a digital instrument cluster.

In India, the Citroen Basalt will use the same 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine which powers the C3 and C3 Aircross. It develops 108 BHP and 189 Nm and could be offered with manual and automatic transmissions.
