Drove back from Mangalore to Bangalore. Started at 4:45AM with 80% charge. Recharged at Zeon Hassan, which has 8 guns ranging from 30 kW to 200 kW. Charged from 20% to 83% in 40 mins. Had a good breakfast there and finally reached Bangalore with 23% battery left.
This means 120% of battery was used to cover the return journey of 361 km. This included the famous ascent of the Shiradi Ghat. At the ghats, the wh/km touched a whopping 170 wh/km. It’s settled down to 152 by the time I reached Bangalore.
The important point to note is that the whole drive is an ascent to Bangalore, and I was maintaining a steady 90-96 kmph from Hassan to Bangalore.
This means a real-life range of 310 km on the return journey. Not surprised as I pushed the vehicle harder and had a full boot plus one additional passenger (3 instead of 2).
Again, no hypermilling, just regular drive with lots of sports mode and fun.
The overall trip was 1610 km @ 134 wh/km, meaning an average range of 350 km per full charge.
Kudos to Tata and this brilliant car.
