Exide has set up a joint-venture factory with Leclanche SA to produce battery packs and modules.

Exide Industries has announced that it plans to set up a lithium-ion cell manufacturing plant in India.

Exide has confirmed through a regulatory filing that it plans to set up a greenfield multi-gigawatt lithium-ion cell manufacturing plant in the country. It also plans to apply for and participate in the government's Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for National Programme on Advanced Chemistry Cell (ACC) battery Storage.

Exide has also partnered with Switzerland-based Leclanche SA. The joint-venture company produces battery packs and modules. The factory, equipped with automated assembly lines, is already operational.
