Recent design patents filed by Honda reveal a new dual-sport motorcycle that is believed to be based on the CB200X. It could be called the NX200.
The patent images show a bike that looks properly kitted out for off-road conditions. It has an off-road-oriented suspension setup with conventional telescopic forks at the front and a mono-shock at the rear. It also has wire-spoke wheels and a high-mounted upswept exhaust.
The bike looks like a typical dual-sport with high ground clearance and an upright riding position. It has a single-piece seat, knuckle guards, a windshield and an engine bash plate.
Rumours suggest that the new model could use the same engine as the CB200X. The 184.4cc single-cylinder unit that produces 17 BHP @ 8,500 rpm and 16.1 Nm @ 6,000 rpm.
