Maruti Jimny media drives to be held this month, but not in Leh

Maruti decided to change the location of the Jimny media drives following recent criticisms of a TVC shoot.

Maruti Suzuki has dropped its plan to organize the Jimny media drives in Leh. The event will now be held in Dehradun later this month.

According to a media report, Maruti decided to change the location of the Jimny media drives following recent criticisms of a TVC shoot that featured the Jimny wading through a waterbody in Ladakh. Perhaps, fearing a backlash, the carmaker may have decided to not go ahead with its plan to conduct the media drives in the Union Territory.

Last month, Ladakh MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal condemned Maruti Suzuki's actions, calling it an "irresponsible advertisement act". He stated that the fragile ecosystem of the region should not be destroyed for the sake of commercial gain and urged the administration to halt the shooting and take legal action against the company.
