Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 bookings open ahead of launch

The EQS 580 will be assembled locally at Mercedes’ Pune factory.

Mercedes-Benz has started accepting bookings for the EQS 580 in India for a token amount of Rs 25 lakh. The electric sedan will be launched on September 30, 2022.

The EQS 580 will be assembled locally at Mercedes’ Pune factory. It will be positioned below the AMG EQS 53, which was launched earlier this year.

The Mercedes EQS is based on the EVA platform. The EQS 580 uses a dual-motor set-up. It packs 516 BHP and 856 Nm and is powered by a 107.8 kWh battery pack that is said to offer a maximum range of 770 km (WLTP cycle).

The AMG EQS 53 also comes with dual electric motors. Together they produce 762 BHP and 1020 Nm. The motors are powered by a 107.8 kWh battery pack that is said to offer a range of up to 586 km on a single charge.
