Mercedes sets up biggest Indian luxury car workshop in Mumbai

Mercedes-Benz inaugurated their latest workshop at Andheri (East) in Mumbai, which it claims is the biggest luxury car workshop in India.

The workshop was built over 18 months at an investment of Rs 52 crore and is run by Mercedes-Benz’s dealer, Auto Hangar. In a space of 1 lakh sq. feet, the workshop has 54 servicing bays and 159 trained personnel that can cater to 60 cars per day.

It is also equipped with equipment like remote sensing diagnosis that is used by Mercedes-Benz globally. There will be round the clock support for service, general repairs, body repairs, paint job, wheel alignment, wheel balancing, tyre change, car wash, polishing and a gamut of other servicing requirements. 

Mercedes-Benz is present across 31 cities through 72 touch points.

Peter Honegg, MD & CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, said at the inauguration that going forward, "world-class servicing standards" will be the key differentiator for the company. In addition to the focus on this strategic expansion, the company is also expected to expand its portfolio by adding the B-Class.
