Mitsubishi recalls 2,400 Cedias over airbag inflator defect

Mitsubishi Motors has recalled approximately 2,400 Cedia sedans in India. The vehicles covered in the recall were produced between 2006 and 2008, and the cars are being recalled to refit the passenger side airbag. This is part of a global exercise by Mitsubishi Motors - Japan, relating to airbag inflators.

Mitsubishi will undertake these replacements free of cost at HMFCL - Mitsubishi dealerships across India in a phased manner, starting from January 25, 2016. Customers can check if their car has been affected by placing an enquiry at the nearest authorized dealer.

Alternatively, owners can send in a mail to customersupport@hmfcl.com with the vehicle's chassis number to understand the applicability. Other Mitsubishi vehicles in India have not been affected by the airbag inflator issue.
